TESS VALMORE
Once again, I present this month’s edition of my much maligned predictions. As usual it is littered with unflattering comments, cheap shots and unjustified criticisms. Last month went 45-18 running my total to
3295-924 or 78 % correct
McQUEEN/THERON. I am not allowed to predict Theron fights
CICCHINO/BASSINGER After a sensational first year, Cicchino is having a rougher time. It’s still good, but she is 6-3 for the year and has won her last three, one being over Sarah Carter. Bassinger has a 13-8 career record. She has won five of her last six with wins over Cameron, Michelle Williams, Portman and Emma Roberts Her loss was to Vanessa Hudgens is a title fight on the April PPV. I think Bassinger will win.
De PATRIZI/C.HOLT. de Patrizi has a career record of 14-9. She is 5-2 for the year. She has wins over Weaving, Moretz and Benoist. Her losses were to Elizabeth Olsen and Shay Mitchell. Holt hasn’t been seen much recently. She lost a bout to Daddario in 2020 and lost to Dobrev in April of this year. She has lost six of her last ten going back to 2019. I have to bet on de Patrizi to win
NASTI/M.CYRUS. Nasti is 4-2 for the year with wins over average fighters. Her losses were to Pugh and Camille Mendes. Cyrus has fought four times since the end of 2020. She has lost six of her last ten, but has wins over Alyssa Lynch and Emma Watson. I am going to have to to with de Patrizi
TATANGELO/E.TAYLOR. Tatangelo has already had ten fight this year. She has beaten Lively, Day and Jessica Clements. She has lost to Rohrbach and Atwell Taylor has won six of her last ten with victories over Winnick,
Larson and Ora. Tatangelo wins in the sixth
KHALIFA/BUSH. Khalifa, a former porn star is making her debut against Bush. Bush is 0-2 for the year and has lost six of her last eight. I have no idea what Khalifa fighting skills are. I have to go with the known. Bush wins
FRADEGRADA/K.GALE. Fradregrada has has nine fights so far this year, but only five have been in the FCBA where she is 3-2. She has wins over Cohen, Strahovski and Kerr. Her losses were to Atwell and Teles. Gale has a combined record of 18-9 but is 3-4 in the FCBA. I have a feeling that Fradegrada will be the one standing at the end of the fight.
LAVIGNE/PUGH. This will be Lavigne’s ninth fight of the year as she gets close to going on Hall Of Fame watch. She has won six of her last ten with one loss being in a title fight. She does have a recent win over Cicchino. Pugh is 7-2 in the FCBA and has wins over Nasti and Danielle Campbell. Her losses were to Joey King and Cameron. My guess is that if you can’t beat King, you can’t beat Lavigne. Lavigne wins.
E.ROBERTS/J.KING. Speaking of Joey King and she appears. She has a career record of 10-7 and is 3-1 for the year. Roberts had a good year last year, but this year has been a disaster. She is 1-3 losing to Cameron, Bassinger and Moretz. I think Roberts will get back on track reducing King to rubble
ZIEGLER/BECKY G. Ziegler made her debut in January losing to Lavigne. Since then she has won three straight over average fighters, which is fine as she is essentially a beginner. Becky G has been around for about five years and has a 11-10 career record and is 2-3 for the year. She has a fought a tough schedule with her losses being to Cicchino, Larson and Olivia Holt. This is a big jump in competition for Ziegler. Ziegler has one big advantage. She is 5 1/2 inches taller than Becky G. That should be enough for Ziegler to win.
SCODELARIO/RICKARDS. Scodelario has had a tough time recently losing four of her last six. She is 1-1 for the year, losing to Chalotra and beating Ronan. Rickards has also lost four of her last six and Is 1-1 for the year beating Martinez and losing to Taylor-joy. I have to go with Scodelario to win.
RHODA/CLAUSON. Rhoda has won seven of her last ten with one of those losses being to Righetti in a title fight. She. Is 2-1 for the year with her loss being to Gillan. Clauson has a combined record of 24-11 but is 5-7 in the FCBA. She has had one FCBA fight this year losing to Rohrbach. I think that Rhoda is going to be the victor.
KATIC/ROMJIN. Katic broke in last year at the age of forty-three. She now has a 5-1 record with that one loss being to Krupa. Her wins have been against average to below average fighters. Romjin is a former Unified Middleweight champion and two time Unified Welterweight champ. She’s bean around almost since the beginning with a career record of 31-47. Now almost fifty years old, she has had two fights in the last seven years and has lost her last eight. I will take a chance of Katic
COHEN/GIBBS. Cohen enters with a career record of 11-3 and is 4-1 for this year with her loss being to Fradegrada. Her wins have generally been against average welters. Gibbs has been somewhat of a disappointment. After good 2018-19 years and being in the top ten lightweights, her career went North. (Remember going South is good. Going North not so much) She has lost ten of her last twelve. Cohen by a KO6.
TIGER FREE/ISEMAN. Tiger Free broke in last year and has compiled a sensational 9-1 record. Her wins have been, for the most part, over average opponents while her loss was to Lily Collins. Iseman has had four fights winning three. Her only loss was also to Lily Collins. Tiger Free has a three inch height advantage. That’s enough. Tiger Free in five
LOPILATO/T.COLE. Lopilato has won nine of her last fifteen fighting mainly at bantam. She has beaten Culpo and Cerny who are lightweights. Cole has been around for eighteen years but is only three years older than Lopilato. Cole is a two time Unified Lightweight champion and also held one Unified Welter title. She has a career record of 41-42. Her last fight was in June of 2019 She has now lost six of her last seven. The two have fought once with Cole winning but that was five years ago. Cole is still a dangerous fighter, but the three year layoff isn’t going to help her. I think Lopilato will get even for that previous loss.
M.FOX/ S.MILLER. Since the beginning of 2020 Fox has gone 22-4 and held the Unified Flyweight title She is 2-0 for this year. Miller has held the Unified Flyweight title twice and has a career record of 43-28. Now forty-one, she has been so-so over the last four years winning three of eight. The two have fought twice before, each winning one. Fox won the last meeting which was in 2017. Fox will win two of three
L.COLLINS/JUSTICE. Collins has won twelve of her ls sixteen and is 3-0 for the year. One of her losses was to Vanessa Hudgens in a title fight last December. Justice has an FCBA record of 16-27. Since losing management at the beginning of 2020, she has lost eight of her last ten. This fight is for the best of three. It will go Collins way. She takes the third bout.
FREGE/LARSON. Slam dunk Larson
RATCHFORD/KROES. Ratchford has a career record of 6-3. Since joining the Lioness Club in April of last year, she has won all five of her fights. Her only loss was in a BBU bout to Kate Upton. Kroes has a combined record of 24-22 but has lost her last nine FCBA fights. Ratchford will stay undefeated while fighting at the Lioness
UPTON/GILLAN I am totally prejudiced in this bout. Everyone should know that Kate is one of my best friends, I will pass
M.B.BROWN/D.R.RUSSELL Brown is a newbie having made her debut in March of this year. She has had two bouts winning both. Her opponents were average fighters. Russell’s wins have been over less than average to average fighters. I am going to take a chance on Brown
KYLIE JENNER/TELES. Kylie Jenner is now ranked at six in Tractorpull’s rankings while Teles comes in one spot below, at seven. Jenner has won all five of her fights this year with wins over her sister Kendall, Lima and Kerr. Teles is 3-1 this year with wins over Strahovski and Swift with her loss being to Kendall Jenner. I think this is a 50-50 fight. Roll the dice. Dice say Jenner
DAY/KENDALL JENNER. Since the beginning of last year Day has won eight of ten. She has wins over two of the best IBB members, Fradegrada and Tatangelo. Kendall is a future Hall Of Fame member. She is ranked at three in the lightweights. She is 3-2 this year with her losses being to her sister and to Kate Upton, a top welter. I have no doubt that Jenner will win this fight.
SWIFT/ROHRBACH Another top lightweight bout Taylor is ranked at two by Tractorpull while Rohrbach is ranked at ten. Swift was elected to the Hall of Fame in April. She is 3-2 for the year with losses being to Kendall Jenner and DiDonato. Rohrbach has won eight of her last ten with losses being to Boccia and DiDonato. The two have fought twice before with Swift winning both. Taylor will make it three in a row.
LAWLEY/LEOTTA. Lawley has won ten straight. Although for the most part her opposition hasn’t been the best, She was impressive in her win over Kostek. Leotta is 5-1 for the year. She had a huge win over Ferguson in the April. She has also fought Kostek this year and lost. As usual Lawley is bigger, five inches bigger. Leotta certainly can win this fight but I have to go with Lawley’s size as she has gotten better recently
BENSON/SHIPKA. Benson has lost her last five and nine of her last ten. She has faced some good fighters. Shipka is 1-1 for the year but she has a career record of 4-6. Benson is two inches bigger and has much more experience so I go with Benson.
HALE/RAMIREZ Hale has had a rough time over the last three years. She has lost seven of her last ten. She lost her only fight this year to Dove Cameron. Ramirez has been in the FCBA for three years and had a 50/50 record each year. This year she has split two with Cicchino, beat Lavigne and lost to Mendes. The two fought last year with Ramirez winning. I think Ramirez will repeat.
BELLISARIO/FISHER. Bellisario has a wining record, but has lost six of her last ten. She lost her only fight this year to Anya Taylor Joy. Fisher is a newbie. She has a 2-1 record and is 1-1 for the year losing to Lilly and beating Tatangelo.. They are the same height but Fisher is fifteen years younger. Bellisario has 32 times the experience. I will go with experience. Bellisario wins
O.HOLT/LOWNDES Holt has won eight of her last ten and is 2-1 for this year. Lowndes has won six of her last ten. The two have fought twice before with each winning one. Lowndes has a 2-2 record for the year and one of those wins was over Holt. This is for the best of three. I have a hunch Lowndes will win
MERRIT/HUNTINGTON-WHITELY. Merritt has a 7-3 career record and is 2-1 for the year beating Sophie Turner and losing to DiDonato. Huntington-Whitely has a combined record of 20-30. Her FCBA record is 19-18. She spent a short time on the top ten lightweights. She has lost six of her last ten and her last five. Huntington-Whitely has the experience and has fought far better competition. I have to go with HW
TAYLOR-JOY/SWEENEY Taylor-Joy has a career record of 15-3. She had an eleven fight win streak broken in her first fight this year losing to Chopra. Sweeney has a 12-6 career record and is 1-2 for this year but her one win was over Minka Kelly. Taylor-Joy is over three inches taller. That convinces me Taylor-Joy will win.
L.JAMES/HOOPES. James is undefeated in ten bouts, eight of which have been in the FCBA. She has recently beaten Yustman, Hawke, Lipa and Delevingne. Hoopes has a a 7-13 career record. Of her twenty fights, all but fur have been at JMDD where she has fought bantams and welters. This fight is not at JMD/D. James will stay undefeated.
N.A.LIND/SCOTT. Lind has a career record of 21-13 and has won five of her last ten. She is 1-1 for this year with a win over Eliza Taylor and a loss to Selena Gomez. Scott is a top flight bantam. She went through a little funk last year losing three straight. This year she is 1-1, losing to Bella Throne but beating Minka Kelly. I believe that Scott will win.
C.COLE/PETTIS Cole has won seven of her last ten and is 3-0 for the year. Her recent opponents can be termed as “average”. Pettis can be classified as “average” although she has a win over Cameron. She has a 4-6 career record. I have to go with Cole
DOBREV/PETSCH Petsch has had three fights losing two. Dobrev is closing in on the Hall Of Fame. This will be her 94th fight. She already has the required win ratio. What does Petsch have to lose going into the bout. Nothing but the fight, which she will
ALDRIDGE/REFAELI. Aldridge has won six of her last ten and is 3-2 for the year with losses to Agdal and McMann. Refaeli is a sad case. She has a 15-41 career record and has lost her last fourteen. That’s not as bad as it seems. Her losses have been to the likes of McMann, Hill, Theron, Arterton and Rohrbach. She has become a go to with a name for a win. She is now 41 and really needs to retire. Aldridge shouldn’t have a problem
STRIJD/VACARIU. Strijd has been busy in the Diamond Boxing Tournaments and then the “War In Heaven tournament. She didn’t win either but she went 7-3 which isn’t bad. She is 1-1 for the year after losing to Rhoda in the March PPV. Vacariu is a BBU fighter where she has 7-3 record. She 1-2 in the FCBA losing to Ferguson and Kurkova. Strijd is two inches taller and eleven years younger, Strijd wins
WILDE/CULPO Wilde who is now 38 is trying to stay relevant but not successfully. She has lost nine of her last ten including a loss to McCarthy. which in itself is a signal it’s time to leave the FCBA. Culpa broke in last year and had a 4-1 record. She will raise her record to 5-1.
PORTMAN/S.HUDGENS. Hudgens has an 11-11 record but has lost seven of her last eight. She’s the younger sister of Vanessa. The similarity stops there. The biggest win of her career was three years ago when she beat Johansson. She has now lost seven of her last eight. Portman now 41 is fourteen years older and almost two inches smaller than her opponent. Portman has moved to the downside and this is a chance for Hudgens to beat a name. She will fail
LAMBORGHINI/B.THORNE. JMD Title
BOCCIA/KRSMANOVIC. JMDD Tilte
V.HUDGENS/CAMERON. For the Unified Flyweight Title. This will be Hudgens sixth title defense. She has won her last ten. Cameron has won seven of her last ten. She got the title fight by beating Winter in the last PPV. Hudgens will retain her title.
OLSEN/REINHART. For the Unified Bantam Title. The four champions have been dominating. Sooner or later they are going to lose, Olsen has ruled the bantams for three year being 29-6, This will be her sixth defense. Now comes Reinhart who according to management is not even the best bantam in the stable. Over there, Bennet hung the moon. Of course, I have to disagree. I think Reinhart and Hill are the two best fighters at Front Street. Reinhart lost to Olsen in May of last year. Interestingly in the ten years the two have been in the FCBA, The Wiz is managed to keep Bennett away from Olsen. I’m going for an upset. Reinhart will be the new champ
WINSTEAD/AGDAL For the Unified Lightweight Title. This will be Mary Elizabeth’ eighth defense. She has won twelve of her last fourteen. Agdal has won five straight and eight of her last ten. Her opposition has been from good to very good. She is eight years younger and slightly bigger. She has a good chance of beating Winstead but in the long run Winstead will retain the title
RIGHETTI/DECKER. For the Unified Welterweight title
Who Can Beat Righetti
A. 101st Airborne
B. Seal Team Six
C British SAS
D Shayetet 13
E Brooklyn Decker
F None of the above. <<
