TESS VALMORE
The Lioness Tenth Anniversary PPV is now history. It was a thirteen bout bout card, that was as large as some of the PPV’s back in reign of Commissioner Simguy. There were a number of fights that especially interested us, three of which have Hall Of Fame implications
First of all, we are proud to announce Minka Kelly’s win over Hall Of Fame member Kate Beckinsale makes a her member of the Hall Of Fame. She will be inducted into the Hall on Thursday. I believe it is the first time and rather fitting that a fighter got into the Hall by beating a Hall OF Fame member.
Nina Dobrev had a huge win over Demi Lovato. She now has a record of 59 wins in 92 fights. She now only needs two wins in her next eight fights to guarantee she will be inducted after her 100th fight. It’s possible she could be in the Hall in December or early next year.
Lowndes is another we are putting on the Hall watch although she is a distance off. She now is seven wins and fifteen fights away from the Hall, She currently has a win ratio of 63% over her career. Right now she is 32 and fights about nine a year. Her win percentage has fallen off recently, but I still think has a good chance of making into the Hall
I put Sandra Kubicka on our lightweight watch List. She was matched against Lipa, who has been a member of the top ten several times. I thought Lipa would be the favorite, but Kubicka would pull an upset. Kubicka didn’t. Our next top ten list won’t come out for another six weeks or so and right now losing to a fighter you are supposed to lose to doesn’t hurt much, but it remains to be seen what her status will be on the next release
Odette Yustman lost to Yvonne Strahovski. That was expected, but I am beginning to wonder how long Mr V will keep her. She has had three straight disappointing years
Nearly all the bouts went as expected. I was particularly happy to see Selena and Lily Aldridge win, Corrigan’s win should give her a boost in Boxing Worlds rankings, but I don’t have any influence over there. Cole won her fourth straight and Moretz looks to be getting back on track. I didn’t predict the Decker or Rohrbach bouts on principle. Rohrbach’s fight was at JMDD and Decker’s was at AMD. Finally, Hurley was back in a losing effort against Freeman. Pretty amazing she is fighting at the age of fifty-six
This was an enjoyable card. Can we expect an Eleventh Anniversary card?
