"Well, I certainly didn't EXPECT to be fighting for a title when we signed this a few months ago," Sophia admits. "What I DID expect to do was come in here and win. And, that's EXACTLY what's going to happen tonight."
"She's a good test for my first title defense," says Sophie with a smile. "Note I said 'first', because, after I beat her tonight, there will be others. Plural."
ROUND ONE:
O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'All These Things I've Done' by the Killers, and here comes the challenger, Girls Friday's Sophia Bush!"
McCarthy: "And, again, Weirdo makes the mistake of bringing an actual REAL fighter in here. And, his Dancing Hooker will PAY for that..."
O'Dell: "Bush into the ring and helped off with the robe, and she's looking plenty good in that coral number she's chosen for this one. And, that's 'Hotter Than Hell' by Dua Lipa, and here comes the reigning JMD Champion, 'Sultry' Sophie Mudd!"
Cassie: "It wasn't that long ago that SOME people, AHEM!, were talking about Mudd being sent packing by Front Street. And, now she's wearing GOLD..."
McCarthy: "He should have canned her and brought in a REAL fighter..."
O'Dell: "Sophie into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and the crowd giving it up for the champion in that Egyptian blue bikini..."
Tess: "And, Mudd looking all business right now..."
O'Dell: "Sure is. And, the ladies are about ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Sophie. Mac?"
McCarthy: "REAL fighter. BUSH!"
O'Dell: "Cassie?"
Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"
O'Dell: "There's the bell and Mudd wasting zero time going right after Sophia. She's got Bush backing up immediately, as she steps to and makes with the heavy leather. Surprised by this, Mac, considering Sophie's not always so aggressive?"
McCarthy: "NOTHING surprises me with these Dancing Hookers. Aside from Stewart they're all dumb and poorly trained!"
O'Dell: "Bush hasn't really gotten out of the blocks here. She's being forced back again and again as the champion works her over to head and body. Mudd not exactly damning ALL the torpedoes, but she's not exactly looking to worried about them..."
Tess: "Bush managing to counter here and there..."
O'Dell: "And, that's about ALL she's managing to do. We're down under twenty seconds in the first. Sophie backs Sophia to the ropes, works some jug. Challenger ties up, going to force a break, and there's the bell. Mudd wide in the opener..."
Cassie: "And Sophie leads 10-9."
ROUND TWO:
O'Dell: "Bush adjusting some now. She's jabbing, moving laterally, trying to stay off square. And, it's working in slowing down the champion's advances. And, that's giving the challenger the time and space to put punches together..."
McCarthy: "Like I said, no substitute for experience and Bush has it."
O'Dell: "She does, and she's using it at the moment to make this a two-way round after kind of getting bullied around in the first. This is slick stuff from Sophia, who's also finding spots to dig to jug as Mudd steps to and gets off..."
Cassie: "You can definitely tell this is JMD..."
O'Dell: "No question. Plenty of work to the rack already and it's only the second round. We've got about ten seconds left now, and it's a close one. NICE exchange there, with both fighters scoring some points and there's the bell. Very close, but Bush."
Tess: "And, we're even at 19."
ROUND THREE:
O'Dell: "Same terms for the third. Bush working to stay at range or middle distances, Mudd wanting to close and bang, and, again, both fighters getting some, but not all of what they want. Sophie inside hooking some jug. Sophia ties up and forces a break."
McCarthy: "Bush playing this pretty smart..."
O'Dell: "VERY smart. Probably don't want to just trade with Mudd, so, she isn't. Instead, the challenger is boxing well and limiting Sophie's opportunities. For her part, the champion isn't getting sloppy. She's staying patient..."
Tess: "And, that can be tough to do for a fighter with Sophie's power."
O'Dell: "Mudd managing it, though, and, as we head down the stretch, it's been another close, two way round. Ladies both upping the ante just a bit, maybe trying to steal the points here, but nobody gets the edge late and there's the bell. Close to Mudd."
Cassie: "And, Sophie's back on top, 29-28."
ROUND FOUR:
O'Dell: "Same again in the fourth. It's a battle to enforce terms, and neither fighter's been able to do it since the champion managed to in the opening stanza. Ever since it's been Bush working that left, trying to create space..."
Cassie: "And Mudd looking to close and get physical."
O'Dell: "Less rack work in the third, but that's changing here in the fourth, as both fighters are finding opportunity to bang jug. GOOD combination by Bush there. Her best punches of the fight and she backed up the champ with them."
McCarthy: "Just be patient. She'll screw up and you'll get her."
O'Dell: "Sophia showing plenty of patience, as is the champion. Both brunettes working hard, and both getting work done as we near the end of the fourth. GOOD combination by Mudd and there's the bell. Very close. Bush's round."
Tess: "And, we're even again, this time at 38."
ROUND FIVE:
O'Dell: "Fifth begins with a nice combination from Bush that backs Mudd up a step. Challenger getting in rhythm now and getting going. She's putting punches together well, forcing Sophie to the back foot and working to keep her there..."
McCarthy: "This is what I was saying. Be patient and you'll find an opening. And, she has."
O'Dell: "Bush has got it going on all cylinders now. Mudd working mostly in counter, being backed up on occasion as Sophia gets hard leather on and finds openings to work to jug. Mudd a bit frustrated at the moment. Can't get out of reverse..."
Tess: "Time for Sophie to be patient..."
O'Dell: "Sure is. We're down the stretch of what's been an excellent fifth round for Bush. She's backing Mudd up, pinning her to the ropes, hooking some rack. Champ shoves her off, gets off the cables, and there's the bell. Sophia. Wide."
Cassie: "And, Bush pulls into the lead 48-47."
ROUND SIX:
O'Dell: "Into the second half of the bout and Bush back to work. Mudd firing back at her, and HERE WE GO! HAMMER AND TONGS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING! Brunettes TAGGING IT OUT right now, letting the hands go, banging every legal inch of body, ribs, abs, head, rack..."
Cassie: "Crowd on its feet now!"
O'Dell: "Sure is and neither brunette is slowing down, Champion and challenger banging away lusty in the middle of the ring and MUDD FREEZES BUSH WITH A SHOT TO THE RACK! Sophia HURT and SOPHIE DROPS HER WITH A RIGHT HAND!"
Tess: "That might do it..."
O'Dell: "Mudd to a neutral corner. Bush down on her back, eyes closed. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. Sophia rolls to her belly at six. Reaching for the ropes at seven. Beginning to climb. Eight. Nine. TEN! Bush still trying to climb as the count passes her by and it's OVER! And your winner by KO6 and STILL JMD Champion, 'Sultry' Sophie Mudd!"
McCarthy: "Lucky! Just lucky!"
AFTER:
O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"
Tess: "I have our winner, the JMD Champion, Sophie Mudd, and, Sophie, that last round..."
Sophie (smiling): "That was FUN wasn't it, Tess? Just both of us going after it in there. I have tons of respect for her. She's good and smart and tough and she made me work for it. But, that's what this is about, having this title. You work to GET it and you work to KEEP it. And, that's what I'm going to do!"
Tess: "I've got to ask, though I know the answer. Any idea who you'd like to fight next?"
Sophie (smiling): "We'll leave that to Pointy, Wiz, and your BFF. I'll just be ready to go!"
"Well, I certainly didn't EXPECT to be fighting for a title when we signed this a few months ago," Sophia admits. "What I DID expect to do was come in here and win. And, that's EXACTLY what's going to happen tonight."
