BEFORE:
"It's about time I get a chance in the FCBA," says Georgia with a shake of the head. "I've proven what I can do in the BBU, and the competition over there is every bit as difficult as it is here!"
"I agree that Georgia should have gotten a shot over here a long time ago and that the BBU competition is top notch," says Olivia with a smile. "But, if Georgia's looking for her first FCBA win tonight, she's looking in the wrong place."
ROUND ONE:
O'Dell: "Back at ringside, and that's 'Start Me Up' by the Rolling Stones, and here comes the daughter of lead singer Mick Jagger, Georgia May Jagger!"
McCarthy: "You know, this is a great song! Maybe we'll get Mick to come on 'The Masked Singer' and we can do a duet!"
Cassie: "That's ONE way to get every dog and wolf on the planet to howl at the same time..."
McCarthy: "Shut UP, Scabbo!"
O'Dell (sighing): "Jagger into the ring and heled off with the robe, and she's looking VERY good in that scarlet number she's wearing...and, that's 'Good 4 U' hammering through the arena, and here comes the singer of that tune, 'The Murrieta Mauler', Olivia Rodrigo!"
Tess: "Rodrigo moving steadily up the rankings with 13 straight wins, but she's in Front Street's most crowded division, sitting behind two former champions in Lili Reinhart and Chloe Bennet, along with Sophie Mudd, so she definitely wants a result tonight..."
O'Dell: "Olivia into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve to reveal that marigold number she likes, and it's time for some picks. Tess likes Olivia. Mac?"
McCarthy: "NO FCBA wins. Rodrigo!"
O'Dell: "Cassie?"
Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"
O'Dell: "Unanimous in the first, and the ladies getting to range right away to do a little recon. Jagger's got the reach edge here, and she's using it effectively early, popping out that jab, working to keep Olivia from getting to spots where she can get off. Rodrigo not forcing anything..."
Cassie: "Olivia may have just turned twenty a couple of months ago, but this is fight number 14. She's no rookie and she doesn't fight like one."
O'Dell: "She does not. Brunette patient, moving the feet, head, and hands, looking for openings, probing here and there. Jagger calm and cool, showing plenty of ring presence for a woman in her first FCBA fight. If the younger woman wants to box with, Georgia is willing."
McCarthy: "Kid does have some skills, I'll give her that."
O'Dell: "We're down to just fifteen seconds left in a competitive first. Jagger working the left hand, moving the feet. She's never been in control in this round, but she's been plenty CONTROLLED and, as the bell rings, she's also done enough to take the points, albeit narrowly."
Tess: "And, the blonde also grabs the 10-9 lead."
ROUND TWO:
O'Dell: "Second begins with Olivia seemingly having found what she's looking for. Brunette staying at range, slipping and dipping, getting to spots and getting off in combination. She's scoring well with both hands, getting Jagger on the back foot and keeping her there..."
McCarthy: "Jagger is a TOMATO CAN..."
O'Dell: "Olivia getting it going now, firing on all cylinders. She hasn't hurt Georgia, but she's touching her up in a big way. Jagger giving ground, trying to get the jab on to slow Olivia down, but she can't do it. Brunette really putting punches together well now, as she gets off in combination again and again..."
Tess: "She's definitely got it rolling."
O'Dell: "Coming down to the final ten seconds of what's been a superb second round for the younger woman. GOOD combination from the brunette and then another one. Jagger backs and covers and there's the bell. Not close. Second's going to go to Rodrigo."
Cassie: "And, we're even at 19."
ROUND THREE:
O'Dell: "Third begins with Jagger doubling and tripling up on that jab. Georgia determined to get back on the front foot here, and the blonde is doing it with effective aggression. She's landing that left, following on with right hands, and now able to throw the brunette onto the defensive..."
McCarthy: "She's landed a couple of good shots here, and that can change the equation..."
O'Dell: "Can and HAS. Now it's the blonde who's the aggressor and she's got Olivia spending a lot of time covering up here. Rodrigo trying to get off square and get to spots, but the volume coming from the blonde is making that awfully difficult. Instead, the brunette's getting off in spots only..."
Cassie: "Managing to land some good shot when she does."
O'Dell: "No doubt, but it's not nearly enough to offset all the work Jagger is doing. This is some great stuff from Georgia as the final seconds tick away here in the third. GOOD combination by Jagger backs Olivia up a step, and there's the bell. Not close again. This time to Jagger."
Tess: "And Georgia back in the lead 29-28."
ROUND FOUR:
O'Dell: "Rodrigo showing a LOT more movement as we start the fourth. She's slippin' and dippin' again, looking to avoid that left jab and get off in combination, and that's exactly what she's getting done. All of a sudden, we're back to where we were in the second, with the younger woman taking control and the older on the back foot..."
Tess: "Olivia right back in that rhythm for sure."
O'Dell: "She is, indeed, and when you see what she can do when she's got it going, you know why she's such a hot prospect. Jagger taking a TON of fire right now and THERE'S A RIGHT HAND! Georgia is HURT! Olivia all in and DOWN GOES JAGGER! A three-punch combo and the blonde is dropped to her back!"
Cassie: "That last punch was NASTY..."
O'Dell: "Olivia to a neutral corner. Blonde wide-eyed, staring up at the referee. Count at three. Four. Five. Jagger rolling to her belly at six. Seven. Eight. Not going to happen. Pushes to hands and knees at nine. TEN! It's OVER! Georgia still on all fours as the count passes her by and it's OVER! And your winner by KO4 is 'The Murrieta Mauler', Olivia Rodrigo!"
McCarthy: "Lucky punch!"
AFTER:
O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"
Tess: "I have our winner, Olivia Rodrigo, and, Olivia, seemed like you were able to get it going really well in spots..."
Olivia (nodding): "She has a lot of length for a bantam, and she knows how to use that. So, for me, it was all about geometry, getting that down, getting to my spots. Once I did that, I knew I'd get her."
Tess: "What's next for you?"
Olivia (smiling): "It's pretty early in the year, so, I think there's plenty of time for me to get a lot more work both at bantam and on the beach."
