O'Dell: "You are looking LIVE at the sold out Asylum Arena in Philadelphia! I'm Jennifer O'Dell, and I'm here along with Tess Valmore, The Bad Girl Of Bazz, Cassie Scerbo, and The Loose Cannon Of The FCBA, The Straw That Stirs The Drink, Jenny McCarthy, and ladies, we have quite the card this evening..."
Tess: "That's right, Jenny, and, one of the biggest stories of the evening will be the debut of Front Street's newest fighter, bantamweight Hunter King, who'll be facing Erika Christensen!"
McCarthy: "And, unfortunately, we're going to be seeing a ton of Weirdo's overrated, Campbell-ruined bantams tonight. The good news is, one of them, Chloe Bennet, is going to get her overrated butt whipped by an actual Playmate, Kelly Monaco!"
O'Dell: "Speaking of bantams, we'll also have Kat Dennings..."
McCarthy: "The biggest phony in the stable aside from that SUPER phony Allison Mack!"
O'Dell: "And, Dennings will be climbing into the ring against lovely, athletic, Allison Williams."
Cassie: "And, let's not forget the fourth bantamweight fight, featuring the rubber match between Leven Rambin and Bazz's own Tracy Spiridakos!"
Tess: "We'll also have action at lightweight, where one of Front Street's most underrated fighters, Daniela Ruah, will face off against Jessica Gomes...."
Cassie: "And, at flyweight, we'll see the FCBA debut of a girl who had management for several years but never got a fight, Dreama Walker. And, she's got quite the challenge tonight against Kristen Stewart!"
O'Dell: "Six fights, three weight classes, and, who knows how many shots or bingo squares! So, sit back, get those shot glasses and bingo cards ready, relax, and enjoy, 'No Management? No Problem! At The Asylum'!"
Hunter King vs. Erika Christensen
BEFORE:
"A year and a half this time," says Erika with a shake of the head. "More than. Over 20 months, and nothing. And, I'll say this again. Girls with a tenth of my resume and a twentieth of my looks have management. Now, none of that is Hunter King's fault. But. She's the one who's going to pay for it."
"Look," says Hunter with a head shake of her own. "I get why she's not happy. But, I'm here because I BELONG here. As she's about to find out."
ROUND ONE:
O'Dell: "Back at ringside, and that's 'Tired Of Being Sorry' by the GROUP Ringside, Mac. The GROUP. It's CALLED 'Ringside'..."
McCarthy: "I get it! You don't have to explain things to me like I'm a kindergartener! The group is called 'Ringside'! It's not a difficult concept!"
Tess: "It was the LAST time Christensen was here..."
McCarthy: "SHUT UP, WALMART!"
O'Dell: "Drink up, boys, and let's see if anyone's still conscious by the end of this card. Meanwhile, coming down to the ring to the music of Ringside is the lovely Erika Christensen..."
McCarthy: "And, I'll say again, she's a typical Dancing Hooker opponent, ONE FCBA win!"
Cassie: "You know, if you don't like the way he books the cards, why don't you TALK to YOUR BOSS about it?"
McCarthy: "HE IS NOT MY BOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSS!"
O'Dell (sighing): "Erika into the ring and helped off with the robe to reveal that navy blue two piece and those curves the audience appreciates, and that's 'Shake It Out' by Florence and the Machine, and here comes the newest member of Front Street, 'The Ventura County Volcano', Hunter King!"
McCarthy: "That's a stupid nickname!"
Tess: "Maybe you should take it up with the person who gave her the nickname...your boss..."
McCarthy: "HE IS NOT MY...SHUT UP, WALMARRRTTTTTT!"
O'Dell: "Drink up, boys, but don't take your eyes off the ring, where Hunter's being helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and the crowd is LOVING the way she fills out that aqua bikini!"
McCarthy: "Philadelphia. Low standards."
O'Dell: "Ladies about ready to go. Time for some picks. Tess likes Hunter. Mac?"
McCarthy: "This is another Campbell protege, I suspect. Even a tomato can like Christensen can beat one of those. Erika."
O'Dell: "Cassie?"
Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"
O'Dell: "And, we're underway. Erika wants to close and bang early, but King wants space, wants to use the legs and box a little. Erika showing good feet, though, cutting the ring, stepping in, banging some body. King thumping back, tying up, forcing a break. Erika right back forward, again managing to cut and close..."
McCarthy: "This kid King doesn't know a thing. Can't figure a way to create space."
O'Dell: "Well, to Erika's credit, she's showing very good feet. King not using enough lateral movement right now. She's getting lined up a little too easily, and that's, I think, where the issue is. But, it may not be that big an issue, as Hunter's doing a good job of holding her own when they're in there banging.
Cassie: "Not surprised. King's a very sturdy bantam. She can thump. It's just that she's younger and more athletic and she wants to use that to her advantage."
O'Dell: "Final 30 seconds of the first. It's been a close round, with both fighters having some success scoring. Erika, though, is having slightly the better of things. Good right hand by King right there, but Christensen digs some body and there's the bell. Again, close, but it's Erika who claims the first."
Tess: "And takes the 10-9 lead."
ROUND TWO:
O'Dell: "Christensen right back at King to start the second. Hunter standing and banging with. Erika thumping away to head and body and King responding in kind. This has quickly gotten to phone booth stuff, and that's exactly what the older blonde wants, it seems, and, when you're getting what you want..."
McCarthy: "You're getting the better of things. The problem is, they don't TEACH these kids anything at Front Street. Give this girl to ME and she might be a champion. But, with Campbell and the rest of those losers? Never!"
O'Dell: "Erika working a lot of body right now, and Hunter responding in kind. As Cassie points out, both girls plenty sturdy, so an investment in the body is going to have to be a big one. King a nice right hand there, backed Erika up a step, but Christensen right back forward to thump the ribs again."
Tess: "I like the way Hunter's working up, down, back up. She's not forgetting about the head or the body. She's staying balanced."
O'Dell: "Definitely showing some nice ring awareness for a girl in her first FCBA fight. Christensen levering King with the shoulder, opening her up to work body. Hunter banging right back with a good combination to the head. Five seconds left. More meat tenderizing right to the bell. Nothing in it, ladies. Draw."
Cassie: "20-19, Erika after two."
ROUND THREE:
O'Dell: "Looks like this fight is going to take place almost entirely in the phone booth. Ladies right back at close quarters for the third consecutive round and we're definitely settling in to that. Christensen digging some more body now, thumping away at the midsection and working the ribs. King firing right back, holding her own in there."
Cassie: "And, again, give her credit for doing that, but she's definitely fighting on Erika's terms."
O'Dell: "And, it just COST her! There's a right hand from Christensen and King's HURT! A short right hook and Hunter's legs gave a shimmy and now Erika going all in on this thing. She's backing King up with heavy fire, pinning her to the ropes and going to work. Younger woman in a high guard, rolling with punches..."
Tess: "Better get busy. Referee needs to see her doing something!"
O'Dell: "King jabbing back in spots here, doing, perhaps, just enough. Erika thumping body trying to bring the guard down. King keeping it high, running clock. Twenty seconds left to go. Christensen just winging away looking to finish. Ten seconds. King going to survive it. There's the bell. Erika. Wide."
McCarthy: "And, it's 30-28, but this kid is lucky the fight isn't over."
ROUND FOUR:
O'Dell: "Fourth begins with more aggression from Erika. Christensen all over King early and Hunter firing right back and we've got ourselves a firefight in the middle of the ring! Front Streeter apparently has the legs back and she's able to hold ground and slug with Christensen! Erika not at all taken aback, though, just letting the hands go in there..."
McCarthy: "And, why not? This is working for her. She hasn't lost a round yet."
O'Dell: "GOOD right hand Erika and King fires back with a pair of absolute BOMBS that back Christensen up a step! Erika right back forward, winging away at the younger blonde, determined to back her up and back her down, but Hunter not going to punk here. She's giving every bit as good as she gets in there..."
Tess: "Yes, she is, but this can't continue much longer. Somebody's going to get hurt, because they're just hammering away in there."
O'Dell: "Indeed, they are. Thirty seconds left in an action-packed fourth. Christensen going body, then back to the head. King a NICE combination that backed Erika up a step again. Older blonde right back forward, though, digging body right to the bell. Close, but Hunter King has her first FCBA round."
Cassie: "39-38 in Christensen's favor after four."
ROUND FIVE:
O'Dell: "Erika right back at Hunter, keeping the pressure on the younger fighter. King up to it, at least for the moment, again banging back hard, giving as good as she gets in some more heavy exchanges. Erika backs Hunter up a step with a good right hook and King covers up as the older blonde lets the hands go."
Cassie: "I wonder how much longer Erika can keep up this work rate. I mean, she's not over the hill, but she's 34 and she giving up some years to King."
O'Dell: "Good point, Cassandra Lynn. No signs of a slow down so far, though, as Erika backs Hunter up with ANOTHER good right hook and GETS ROCKED WITH A RIGHT HAND! Christensen stepped forward directly into a straight right from King and those sturdy legs did a shimmy and now Hunter's shoving all the chips into the middle of the table!"
Tess: "Just be careful not to get sloppy here..."
O'Dell: "Good advice and the youngster seems to be taking it. King backing Erika up, working her toward the ropes, banging a little body as Christensen keeps the guard high. King using the jab to set up hard right hands. She's definitely looking to finish, but she's staying very sound right to the bell. End of the fifth. King wide."
McCarthy: "Even at 48 at the half. Anybody's fight."
ROUND SIX:
O'Dell: "Sixth begins with a major turnaround, as it's King who's coming forward looking to take the fight to the older blonde. Erika giving ground in a fighting retreat, using the counter to slow the Front Streeter, looking to walk her into something. Hunter not having it, though. She's working forward very smartly."
McCarthy: "I don't think she's being aggressive enough. Christensen's getting time to get her legs back."
O'Dell: "That she is, but, in the meantime, King is piling up points and landing some hard shot. Erika mostly off the back foot, though she's able to set and fire some solid leather in spots. GOOD right hand there from King and Christensen covers up. ANOTHER good right from Hunter and THERE'S A LEFT HOOK AND DOWN GOES ERIKA!"
Cassie: "The left hook was the last punch, but it was the cumulative effect of all those hard shots that sent Christensen down."
O'Dell: "Hunter to a neutral corner. Erika on her back, staring up at the referee. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Christensen shaking the head, desperately trying to clear it. Count at eight. Nine. She's not going to get there. TEN! It's OVER! The older blonde still on her back as the count passes her by and your winner by KO6 is 'The Ventura County Volcano', Hunter King!"
Tess: "Maybe not the most impressive debut in the history of Front Street, but not bad. Not bad at all."
AFTER:
O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"
Tess: "I have our winner, Hunter King, and, Hunter, it got really physical in there..."
Hunter: "I'm not surprised. She's a full bantam who can hit and take a hit. I knew she'd test me. But, I also knew I'd pass."
Tess: "How's it feel to get that first FCBA win?"
Hunter (smiling): "Well, I know why girls do this, because this is a feeling you aren't likely to get tired of. I've never experienced anything like it!"
Tess: "I suspect you'll experience many more times before you're done, though..."
Hunter (smiling): "I think you're right about that, Tess. In fact, I know you are."
Jessica Gomes vs. Daniela Ruah
BEFORE:
"You know," says Jessica with a gorgeous smile, "People have been asking me about what it's like to lose management. Well. It sucks. But, there's a way to get it back. Take advantage of your opportunities. Turn heads. And, I plan to turn heads tonight.
"Right now," says Daniela with a nod, "I'm underneath around here. And, there's one way to take care of THAT. Take care of business. And, that's exactly what I'm about to do."
ROUND ONE:
O'Dell: "We're back at ringside and that's 'Christina Dior Denim Flow' by Kanye West, and here comes a lovely lady who was mentioned in that song, Jessica Gomes!"
Cassie: "Gomes spent some time with Equipo Secundario last year. Got four fights and didn't win any of them. And, of course, that stable is now defunct, making her an indie again."
Tess: "And, she's right about one thing. If she wants to fix that, she needs to come up big when she gets fights, and she could do worse than start that tonight."
O'Dell: "Gomes into the ring and helped off with the robe. Wearing that red bikini we saw the last time she was here. And, again, she looks just like the internationally famous supermodel she is. And, that's 'Nothing Else Matters' by Metallica, and that can only mean that 'The Portuguese Princess', Daniela Ruah, is on her way to the ring..."
Tess: "Ruah talked about being underneath, and, she is, despite having won fourteen of her last fifteen at this weight, and that's because she fell to Eiza Gonzalez her last time out and happens to be in a division that's SEVEN deep at Front Street..."
Cassie: "And, she's also right about how you take care of that. You win. And she needs a win tonight."
O'Dell: "Ruah into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. She's wearing that powder blue bikini she likes. And, it's time for some picks. Tess favors Daniela. Mac?"
McCarthy: "Gomes is ANOTHER typical Dancing Hooker opponent. NO FCBA wins. Ruah."
O'Dell: "Cassie?"
Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"
O'Dell: "And, here we go. No surprise that we start at range, as both of these brunettes have quite a bit of length and like to use it. They're setting up the gun platform stuff right away, and both are getting the range down quickly, homing in with the jab and a BRUTAL RIGHT HAND FROM GOMES and Ruah's hurt in the first minute!"
Cassie: "That was a heck of a punch, perfectly timed behind the jab!"
O'Dell: "Certainly was and that quickly Jessica's in control of this fight. Ruah backing and covering as Gomes lets the hands go, looking to pull a big upset here. Jessica's sticking with that long left hand, getting it on target and then following with rights. She works Ruah to the ropes and then begins working her over..."
McCarthy: "You may be seeing the last of Daniela Ruah right now. She's on the bottom of Weirdo's pile and came up small against Gonzalez her last time out. Lose today, and she may be out the door!"
O'Dell: "Jessica hooking body as Daniela leans back in the ropes in a high guard, rolling with punches, picking off others, running some clock. Gomes determined to try to finish this, goes right back upstairs and lands some good shot, but she's running out of time. Ten seconds to go. Good right hand, Gomes, but there's the bell. Jessica wide in the first."
Tess: "Cards say 10-9, but that was a big round for Jessica in a lot of ways."
ROUND TWO:
O'Dell: "Gomes right back to work, and Ruah still looking a little unsteady. She's willing to give ground, take it back to the ropes and work the counter from there. This isn't exactly the kind of pocket stuff we've seen from girls like Britney, but it's something similar, and it may not be a bad idea if Ruah isn't sure of those legs."
Cassie: "Well, that punch she took was a monster. It would have put a lot of girls OUT, let alone down. I'm not surprised she's still feeling the effects."
O'Dell: "Jessica again piling up points, banging a little body, but concentrating upstairs looking to finish Daniela. Ruah rolling with, jabbing back in spots, definitely playing for time here. Gomes not letting up a bit, throwing everything she has at the older woman. Daniela taking the licking and continuing ticking."
Tess: "And, she's doing enough in counter that the referee isn't going to jump in and stop it."
O'Dell: "Not unless Gomes lands something else big, at least, and the younger brunette trying desperately to do just that. Twenty-five seconds to go here in the second. Gomes a good right hand that sent sweat flying. Ruah keeping the hands high, leaning back, countering. Ten seconds. One more flurry from Gomes and there's the bell. Jessica wide for the second round in a row."
McCarthy: "20-18. And, like I said, if this doesn't turn around, Ruah's toast."
ROUND THREE:
O'Dell: "Third begins with Gomes again looking to press, but Ruah stopping the offensive immediately. Dani now seems to have the legs back and she's stabilized her front. That quickly, we're back to where we started with the gun platform stuff. Both fighters moving the head and feet, working the long left jab."
McCarthy: "This is more like what I thought we'd see..."
O'Dell: "RIGHT HAND, RUAH! Dani dropped in a big right and now Jessica's hurt! Gomes wobbled and nearly went down and now Daniela's the one going all in. She's hammering away, driving Jessica back, trapping her on the ropes and going to work in a big way. Gomes now in the same position Ruah was the last two rounds!"
Cassie: "You just never know what's going to happen in the FCBA, do you?"
O'Dell: "Thirty seconds to go in the third and Daniela giving Jessica a thumping, but, Gomes doing enough in counter, as Ruah did in the first, to keep the referee at bay. Daniela getting off plenty lusty, though. She's not just scoring, she's doing some damage with those heavy right hands right to the bell. Ruah wide in the third."
Tess: "And, despite the setback, Jessica still up 29-28."
ROUND FOUR:
O'Dell: "Ruah on a mission now. She's walking Gomes down, using her advantage in physicality to take control of the fight. Jessica trying to hold her canvas, but can't get it done. Instead, it's a slow, steady retreat in front of the big guns Ruah's deployed in the field. Gomes still a bit unsure of the legs, Mac..."
McCarthy: "Exactly, and that's why this is working so well for Ruah. Gomes can't do enough lateral movement to slow this down."
O'Dell: "And a veteran like Ruah going to take full advantage of a situation like this, and that's exactly what she's doing. She's giving Jessica a thumping, slowly working her back to the ropes and now pinning her there despite Gomes' best efforts. Ruah working some body now, as Jessica's selling it cheap."
Tess: "And, they're on the other side of the ring, but we can clearly hear those body shots landing. That can NOT feel good..."
O'Dell: "Still, Gomes keeping the guard up, jabbing back, trying to put together some combinations in counter, but mostly failing to do that. Instead, it's one punch stuff, while Ruah's landing punches in bunches. Ten seconds to go in a one-way fourth round. Good right from Dani and there's the bell. Ruah wide again."
Cassie: "And, we're even at 38."
ROUND FIVE:
O'Dell: "Fifth begins with Ruah forward behind that jab again. Jessica seems to have some more leg this round. She's angling a little, trying to foul Daniela's sights. Front Streeter getting that jab home, though, following on with hard right hands. She's got the range and Gomes can't seem to do much about it."
Cassie: "This is not what Jessica wants. She does not want Daniela Ruah lining her up. No good can come of that."
O'Dell: "Gomes again being forced backward. Ruah in total control now, as she has been since that big right hand in the third round that turned this fight completely around. Daniela just showing too much physicality for Gomes at the moment. Jessica game, but, right now, anyway, looking to be outgunned."
McCarthy: "She's got to set her feet and fire back. Punch for respect."
O'Dell: "Ruah another good combination. Jessica fires back and DOWN GOES GOMES! An overhand right from Ruah and Gomes noses in at Daniela's feet!"
Tess: "You might want to cue Cassie's music after that one..."
O'Dell: "Ruah to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Gomes unmoving. Face down. Hands trapped beneath her. Eight. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO5 in one-punch fashion is 'The Portuguese Princess', Daniela Ruah!"
AFTER:
O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"
Tess: "I have our winner, Daniela Ruah, and, Dani, rough start..."
Daniela (nodding): "She caught me with a good one, no question. After that, I had to manage things until I could shake it off and get back in the fight."
Tess: "And, when you did shake it off, you took over..."
Daniela: "I had to get a little more aggressive with her. I knew I was down on the cards, so it was time to take it to her. I did. And, I got the result I wanted."
Kristen Stewart vs. Dreama Walker
BEFORE:
"You know," says Dreama with a grin, "When a girl gets signed to a stable, she doesn't figure it's going to take five years for her debut fight. But, it's been almost that long since I joined the FCBA. So, yeah, I'm pretty excited to be here and I plan to make a good first impression."
"This is another girl I like," says Kristen with a nod. "She's smart and talented and funny and tenacious as all get out. So, just like Thirlby, this is going to be business. I'll take care of that, then go back to liking her."
ROUND ONE:
O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Dream No More', and this has been a big night for Metallica already..."
McCarthy: "Well, it's better than SOME of the junk we hear around here, THAT'S for sure!"
Cassie: "Tess, is there an opening for a music critic at one of the magazines your company owns?"
Tess: "No!"
Cassie: "It's just as well. I'm sure Mac's BOSS wouldn't allow her to moonlight for a magazine..."
McCarthy: "HE. IS. NOT. MY. BOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!"
O'Dell (sighing): "Dreama into the ring and helped off with the robe. Nice gray two piece with pink edging and she's clearly been working hard to get ready for this one."
McCarthy: "Well, she's HAD five years..."
O'Dell: "And, that's 'Helter Skelter' by the Four Lads From Liverpool, and that can only mean the FCBA's biggest Beatles fan, 'The Five-Tool Player', Kristen Stewart, is on her way to ringside!"
Cassie: "K-Stew had another long winning streak broken by Vanessa Hudgens at the end of last year. She's still at the top of the Front Street flyweight division, though, and is looking to work her way back into the title picture."
O'Dell: "Kristen into the ring and helped off with the robe. She's wearing that familiar lime green bikini she likes, and the fans like it as well, as you can tell by that reaction. Ladies about ready to go. Time for some picks. Tess likes Kristen. Mac?"
McCarthy: "Yet another typical Dancing Hooker opponent. NO FCBA wins. Stewart."
O'Dell: "Cassie?"
Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"
O'Dell: "And, there's the bell. Stewart wants to go to that long jab early, and that's no surprise. Kristen a tall fly and she likes to use that height and length to her advantage. Walker, though, using her lack of same in the same way. She's got the head tucked. She's in a half crouch, and she wants to work past the jab."
Cassie: "I like this fight plan for her. Walker isn't the kind of athletic fly who's going to bounce all over the place and jab and dance..."
Tess: "Unlike SOMEone I know..."
Cassie: "True. But, she doesn't want to be out on the end of Stewart's punches."
O'Dell: "And, this is definitely a way to avoid that. Walker able to slip some of those jabs, catch others on her gloves, get to her spots and work the body. And, body work is apparently the plan for the blonde, at least early, because that's where she's concentrating her efforts, tummy and ribs."
McCarthy: "And, that's exactly where to go against a rail like Stewart."
O'Dell: "Final thirty seconds of a close first round. Neither fighter getting a lot done. Kristen landing some jabs, but not getting much done with the right. Dreama getting some body work in, but doing almost nothing upstairs. Ten seconds to go. More digging from Walker right to the bell. Close to Dreama."
Tess: "And, not a bad way to start your first FCBA fight, by winning the opening round."
ROUND TWO:
O'Dell: "We start the second the same way we ended the first, with Dreama in that half crouch working forward and Stewart trying to keep her outside with that jab. And, while Kristen's able to slow the blonde down, she can't stop her from getting in tight, where, again, Dreama goes body in a big way."
Tess: "Thing about this strategy of Walker's is, it counters Stewart's accuracy. You aren't going to have a lot of success avoiding her jab, but, Walker's blocking instead."
O'Dell: "Good point, Tess. And, even with Dreama's head tucked and the gloves high, K-Stew STILL getting jabs home, able to split the gloves, work in the small amount of space she's getting, but, the blonde able to limit those touches enough to close and get some touches of her own to the ribs and midsection."
McCarthy: "And, again, a skinny girl like Stewart doesn't like it to the body."
O'Dell: "Coming down the stretch in another close round. Walker's corner has to be happy with what they've seen so far. She's executing the fight plan perfectly. Again, she's in close and working body as we head for the bell. Kristen banging back in kind. Nice short right hook from Stewart at the bell. Close. But, again, Walker."
Cassie: "And, Dreama now up 20-18 after two."
ROUND THREE:
O'Dell: "Into the third and, again, it's Walker looking to work past Stewart's defenses and get in close. Dreama keeping that head low, maybe crouching even a bit lower in this stanza, making it very, very difficult for K-Stew to find the head with that accurate left jab, and, again, Dreama getting to her spot and working body."
McCarthy: "Walker just might be giving everybody in the FCBA a road map on how to beat this kid..."
O'Dell: "RIGHT HOOK, K-STEW! She landed that short right again and this time Walker's HURT! Dreama's legs did a shimmy and now she's covering up and being backed up as Stewart gets off lusty. Kristen looking to finish this thing right now. Walker, though, in a fighting retreat, jabbing back, not being routed..."
Cassie: "Stewart starting to go downstairs now. She's going to dare the blonde to keep that guard up."
O'Dell: "Kristen pins the older woman to the ropes and now goes back upstairs, banging away with both hands. Referee watching closely, but Walker doing enough in return. She's firing back whenever she gets the opportunity. Ten seconds remaining in the third. Good right hand Stewart, but there's the bell. Stewart wide."
Tess: "And, it's a one-point fight, 29-28, Dreama."
ROUND FOUR:
O'Dell: "Stewart right to the left hand to start the fourth. Looking to work forward, but Walker banging right back, holding her canvas, clearly has the legs back. Kristen now sets up on the back foot and she wants to work at range again. And, Dreama's right back to working forward in that half crouch with the head tucked..."
Cassie: "Color me impressed with Walker. Came in with a good fight plan. Executed it. Got hurt. Didn't panic. Now, right back to work."
O'Dell: "Well, Dreama's not some teenager. She's 30 years old. And, it's not like she hasn't been around the FCBA. She was in a stable for some time. This is just the first time she's gotten in the ring, and she's clearly ready for it. I'm not sure I'd recommend quite so long an apprenticeship, mind..."
McCarthy: "Just like the old days in the NFL, where they'd draft a rookie QB and let him sit behind a veteran for a few years to learn. Walker's learned."
O'Dell: "And, she's making this fight plan work again. She's in tight, working body. Stewart, by the by, tolerating that pretty well. She's showing no ill effects, at least to this point. But, Dreama's scoring points if she's doing nothing else. We're rolling toward the bell, and there it is. For the third time in four rounds, close. And, again, it's Walker."
Tess: "She's back up two, 39-37. And, I'm just as impressed as Cassie."
ROUND FIVE:
O'Dell: "Looks like the pattern is set now. It's Stewart at range, Walker working forward. Kristen having the better of things when she keeps Dreama outside, the blonde with the slight edge when she can close on the younger woman. Walker again in tight, working the body, banging away at Kristen's ribs..."
Cassie: "RIGHT HOOK, STEWART!"
O'Dell: "And, Walker nearly goes down! Kristen again found space for that short right hook and Dreama hurt again! Kristen letting go with a blizzard of punches as the blonde stumbles backward, but, somehow Walker stays on her feet! Stewart all in. She's determined to get this thing to the finish line right now..."
Tess: "And, this time, Walker giving ground quickly. Doesn't have the legs to make a fight of it."
O'Dell: "She's rope bound with forty-five seconds to go. Stewart giving it to her with both barrels. Dreama with the guard high, rolling with, again, countering when she can. Kristen digging somebody now, but Walker not going to drop that guard. She's determined to survive this round and she's going to do it. There's the bell. Stewart in shutout fashion."
McCarthy: "But, Walker still up 48-47 at the half."
ROUND SIX:
O'Dell: "Kristen working forward to start the second half. Walker's legs looking a bit shaky and K-Stew knows it. She's ranging in with that educated left hand of hers, looking for every opportunity to drop in a hard right. Walker giving ground, countering in spots, not able to do a whole lot to slow Stewart down at the moment..."
Cassie: "This is clinical stuff from K-Stew right now. There's a reason she's a top ten fly. She can beat you a lot of ways."
O'Dell: "And, beating Walker's exactly what she's all about right now. Dreama trying to move laterally, working to stay off the ropes. Doesn't want to revisit that. Stewart squaring her up now, landing some hard right hands. Walker fires back with a nice combination and a BOOMING RIGHT HAND FROM KRISTEN!"
McCarthy: "LUCKY PUNCH!"
O'Dell: "DOWN GOES WALKER! Stewart a straight right and Dreama dropped to her back. Kristen quickly to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Walker rolls to her belly. Six. Seven. Eight. Walker pushing up to hands and knees then sinking back to her belly! TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO6 is 'The Five-Tool Player', Kristen Stewart!"
AFTER:
O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"
Tess: "I have our winner, Kristen Stewart, and, Kristen, she caused some problems for you early..."
Kristen (nodding): "She's a smart girl, like I said. She wanted to take some thing away from me. That just meant I had to solve problems. And, there's nothing I enjoy more than that."
Tess: "What's next for you?"
Kristen: "As always, that's up to management. I don't get involved in that stuff. I just come in here and take care of business."
Allison Williams vs. Kat Dennings
BEFORE:
"Look," says Allison without a trace of a smile. "It sucked that Gemini went under. I was trying to get some traction in my career, and, before that could happen, I was back as an indie. But, that's not the end for me. I can fight at this level. I can win at this level. And, tonight, I'll prove it."
"I get that she's all about making an impression tonight," says Kat with a smile. "But, at Front Street, you've got to be about making impressions EVERY night if you don't want to get buried. And, I'm definitely not trying to do that."
ROUND ONE:
O'Dell: "Back at ringside, and that's 'Hallelujah', which, of course, was written by the brilliant Leonard Cohen..."
McCarthy: "He sings like a GIRL..."
Cassie: "Are you SURE there's no opening for a music critic at one of the magazines, Tess?"
Tess: "YES!"
O'Dell (sighing): "That is NOT Leonard Cohen singing. Cohen WROTE the song and he also sang it..."
McCarthy: "And, he sings like a GIRL!"
Cassie: "Tess..."
Tess: "NO!"
O'Dell: "Again, NOT Cohen singing this version. Instead, it's the lovely lady coming down to the ring, Allison Williams!"
McCarthy: "Who can't sing OR fight, making her a typical Dancing Hooker opponent!"
O'Dell (sighing): "Williams into the ring and helped off with the robe. She's wearing a nice floral bikini that shows of a..."
McCarthy: "Body that looks like a teen boy's!"
O"Dell: 'Well, the crowd certainly seems to appreciate it, and that's 'I Don't Feel Like Dancing' you hear pounding through the arena, and that can only mean that Kat 'The Rack' Dennings is on her way to the ring..."
Tess: "And, Kat made a good point in the pre-fight about the competition at Front Street. The bantamweight division is in a bit of flux right now, with Pink having retired. Allison Mack's on top with Chloe Bennet, Leven Rambin, and Dennings herself looking to join Allison at the contender level."
Cassie: "And, to do that, Kat needs to keep fighting like she did last year, when she ran off five straight wins."
O'Dell: "Dennings into the ring. She's helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve and she's sporting that curve-hugging black number she likes..."
Cassie: "And that body looks nothing like any boy's, that's for sure..."
McCarthy: "It's overrated, just like Dennings."
O'Dell: "Aaaannnnddddd, the ladies are about ready to go. Time for some picks. Tess likes Kat. Mac?"
McCarthy: "Again, typical Dancing Hooker opponent. Dennings."
O'Dell: "Cassie?"
Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"
O'Dell: "It's unanimous. Let's see if the ladies are right. Anyone who's seen these two ladies fight could have predicted how this one is starting. Williams, athletic and quick, wants to move. Kat, the pressure fighter, wants to close and bang, and, both ladies able to execute their respective game plans in spots so far..."
Cassie: "One thing I like about Allison is exactly what you point out. She moves very well. She's quick. She can cause problems for girls with that speed and athleticism."
O'Dell: "Causing a few for Kat early, but, only a few. Dennings able to cut the ring and work the body in spots. She's working upstairs, too. As usual, all about the pressure for Kat, who management has always billed as a girl who can be a bigger, stronger Danielle Fishel. For her part, Allison working hard to create space."
McCarthy: "And, she's doing it the right way. Lateral movement, giving a little ground, getting the jab working."
O'Dell: "Twenty seconds to go in a good, back-and-forth first. More body work for Dennings as she brings Allison to battle. Williams tying up, but Kat shoving off. This late flurry from Dennings may end up being very important. Five seconds left. Good hook to the ribs by Kat and there's the bell. Late rally enough to earn her the points."
Tess: "Kat's become a veteran. This is her 29th fight. And, that was veteran stuff right there."
ROUND TWO:
O'Dell: "Second begins with a jab and circle routine from Williams. She's picking up Dennings with the jab now, keeping her at range, and that's working very, very well for her at the moment. Kat still working forward, moving the head and feet, but Williams getting into rhythm now, and it's making a big difference."
Cassie: "Like I said, I like this girl's athleticism. Uncle Wiz talked about signing her back before she signed on with Gemini. She's got plenty of talent..."
McCarthy: "That Weirdo wouldn't know talent if he stepped in a pile of it..."
Cassie: "Speaking of piles of things, there might just be a pile of pudding in your future if you don't watch your step..."
McCarthy: "Are you threatening me, you LITTLE..."
Cassie: "I don't make threats. I give warnings. Consider yourself WARNED..."
McCarthy: "Did you...I don't believe...I'll SUE! Siri, call my lawyer!"
O'Dell (sighing): "Speaking of lawyers, I need to call mine and get him to renegotiate my contract. I am NOT getting paid enough for this. Final 30 seconds of the second. Williams in full control right now. She's finding Kat with the jab, keeping her out on the end of the punches, and not letting Dennings get going at all. There's the bell, and it's Allison solid in the second."
Tess: "And, we're even at 19 after two."
ROUND THREE:
O'Dell: "Third begins with more solid stuff from Allison. Williams really finding some answers right now. She's got the jab working, and everything else is working because of that. Dennings not hurt or anything, but she's taking a lot of leather in her efforts to close, and she's not having much success doing so."
McCarthy: "Again, this girl is a Campbell protege, which means she doesn't know anything, because CAMPBELL doesn't know anything!"
O'Dell: "Good right hand from Williams. Dennings working forward, takes a jab, walks through it, GETS DROPPED BY A RIGHT HAND! A NICE right hand from Williams and Kat to her hands and knees! Dennings pounding the canvas in frustration as Allison bounces to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Kat to her feet...."
Tess: "That was a really good punch from Williams. I wasn't sure Dennings was getting up."
O'Dell: "She's taking the mandatory and the referee going to waive Allison forward. Williams right to work. She's backing Kat up with heavy fire. Dennings trying to dig in, bang back, but the younger woman having her way, grabbing canvas, cleaning up very nicely after the knockdown. Williams winging away looking for the finisher. Not going to find it, but she is going to grab this thing 10-8. There's the bell. Big round for Allison."
Cassie: "And, she has a 29-27 lead after three."
ROUND FOUR:
O'Dell: "Williams looking to press the issue early, but Kat able to hold her ground now. Sturdy legs back under her and she's banging back hard. Allison quickly changes gears. Back to the jab and circle. Not going to play into what Kat wants. Dennings moving the feet again, trying to cut an close, work past that nice jab of Williams'..."
Cassie: "Dennings has made a bit of a level change. Showing a slight crouch. Also moving the head more this round."
O'Dell: "And, both things are working. She's able to close and bang with Allison. Williams, though, extricating herself quickly and getting back to open canvas. Dennings brings her to battle again, though, thumps the ribs and DROPS WILLIAMS WITH A RIGHT UPPIE! A nice right uppercut and Allison dropped to a sitting position. Dennings now to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Williams up, shaking her head. Going to take the mandatory."
McCarthy: "Doesn't seem like she was hurt that badly. Sometimes, with an uppercut, if you're stepping back and it catches you off balance..."
O'Dell: "Referee finishes his count and waives Kat forward. Dennings charging after the younger fighter. Allison trying to create space with the jab, but Kat walking through, closing, banging body. Allison tying up and KAT LANDS THAT SHOVEL HOOK TO THE LIVER! Williams down to the canvas, both gloves clawing at her torso. Dennings to a neutral corner again. Count at three. Four. Five. Six..."
Tess: "She's not beating this..."
O'Dell: "Eight. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO4 is Kat 'The Rack' Dennings!"
AFTER:
O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore."
Tess: "I have our winner, Kat Dennings, and, Kat, she had her moments in there..."
Kat (nodding): "Well, we knew she could fight coming in here. She has great legs and she's quick. She caught me one in the third, and that kinda p*ssed me off. I knew I needed to get in gear and get physical with her."
Tess: "And, when you did..."
Kat: "When I get physical with girls, good things and bad things happen. Good things for ME, bad things for THEM."
Chloe Bennet vs. Kelly Monaco
BEFORE:
"I know what everyone's thinking," says Kelly with a shake of the head. "My day is done, and I shouldn't be in the ring against a rising star like her. Well. This is MY hometown, and I'm going to show everyone that my day isn't done just yet."
"Look," says Chloe. "She's a veteran. She's beaten some good fighters. She's in great shape. This is no walkover. And, I'm definitely not treating it that way."
ROUND ONE:
O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Crazy For This Girl' by Evan and Jaron, and here comes former Playmate and 'Dancing With The Stars' star Kelly Monaco!"
Cassie: "Who some have called 'the most talented Playmate ever to fight in the FCBA'!"
McCarthy: "NO ONE HAS EVER CALLED HER THAT EXCEPT FOR THAT FRAUD ALLISON MACK!"
Tess: "HERE we go..."
McCarthy: "SHE started it and SHUT UP, WALMART!"
O'Dell: "Drink up, boys, but don't take your eyes off the screen, because Kelly is climbing into the ring and being helped off with the robe to reveal a pale yellow bikini and a body that looks ANYthing but 40 years old..."
McCarthy: "Age ain't nothin' but a number, ESPECIALLY for Playmates!"
O'Dell: "And, that's..."
McCarthy: "TERRIBLE! Just TERRIBLE! I can't BELIEVE they keep subjecting our olfactory senses to this song every time this Dancing Hooker comes to the ring!"
Cassie: "Tess, are you SURE..."
Tess: "NO!"
O'Dell: "And, we're just going to let the olfactory thing go by, are we? All right then. The song in question is 'Uh Oh', and the singer, of course, IS the young lady coming down to the ring, 'The Next Big Thing', Chloe Bennet!"
Tess: "And, we were talking before about there being some room at the top of the Front Street bantamweight division with the retirement of Pink, and Bennet, who's won thirteen of her last fourteen and took former champion VanCamp seventeen rounds in the loss, is definitely poised to make the step up."
Cassie: "No question about it, Tess. No question about it."
O'Dell: "Chloe into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. She's wearing that blue bikini she likes and the crowd clearly likes it even more. And, the ladies are about ready, so it's time to get some picks. Tess favors Chloe. Mac?"
McCarthy: "Monaco is FAR from the most talented Playmate in the history of the FCBA, BUT, she's good enough to beat a Dancing Hooker like Bennet!"
O'Dell: "Cassie?"
Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"
O'Dell: "And, the first begins. Kelly all motion right now, showing those great legs we saw when she was dancing on television every week. Bennet, on the other hand, looking to work the jab and use her length. She's trying to control Kelly with the left, but Monaco able to avoid it and bounce all over the place..."
Tess: "Looks a little like a flyweight we all know..."
O'Dell: "Bennet patient. Working her feet. Looking to square up the older woman. Kelly making good use of all that movement both offensively and defensively, as she bounces forward for a quick combination, then back outside. Bennet looking to find with that left, and, when she does, she's getting the right on quickly."
Cassie: "This is pretty solid stuff from both fighters right now. Lots of action. Both girls getting leather home."
O'Dell: "No doubt about it. Fifteen seconds to go in a first round that's seemed to move very quickly. Kelly circling wide now, moving the head, snapping out a jab that's ending up short but serving a defensive purpose. Bennet stepping forward, cutting the ring for the first time, landing a combination, and there's the bell. Close. Chloe."
McCarthy: "If Monaco can keep this up for the rest of the fight, she'll win it, just like I said."
ROUND TWO:
O'Dell: "Second begins the way the first ended, Monaco all over the place and Bennet trying to find. Kelly, by the by, is plenty physical and has fought that style in her career, but, she's giving away the size here, and has clearly decided that the legs are the key to victory on this evening, Mac..."
McCarthy: "Look, in my HALL OF FAME career, I was able to fight many styles, and that's why I was so great. I could get in there and bang with anybody, but, there where nights when I wanted to use all this speed and quickness to my advantage. And, it didn't necessarily depend on the opponent, since I could beat ANYone fighting ANY style. Sometimes, it was just what I felt like doing that night..."
O'Dell: "In Kelly's case, though, I think it IS about the opponent. She's the smaller girl and banging with Bennet probably isn't the easiest path to victory. And, when you've got legs like Kelly does, well, you might as well use them, and that's just what she's doing right now. Monaco circling, bouncing in, landing, bouncing out."
Tess: "And, Mac mentioned a key question. Kelly's always been in great shape, but she IS 40. Can she do this all night? If so, this is an excellent fight plan."
O'Dell: "Coming down the stretch in the second. Bennet again working to find with the jab, and, when she can, landing that right hand follow. She's getting punches put together in spots, but only in spots because of all the movement from Kelly. Five seconds left in this thing. Going to be close again, but, there's the bell, and this time it's Monaco's round.""
McCarthy: "19-19 and I think Monaco's starting to gain the advantage."
ROUND THREE:
O'Dell: "Third begins with Kelly again playing human Super Ball. She's bouncing all over the place and Bennet, remaining patient, doing her best to find her. Again, Monaco making these terms work. She's outside, then inside, then back out again. She's ducking, slipping, picking off punches, doing everything she can to foul Chloe's sights."
Tess: "And, she's doing an excellent job of it, because, again, Bennet only able to put punches together in spots."
O'Dell: "When Chloe does get the jab on, she's able to follow and score with the right, but, that's just not happening often enough for the Front Streeter's liking. Meanwhile, Kelly definitely playing the long game. She's applying pressure here and there, getting some leather on, scoring some points, but keeping the exchanges short."
Cassie: "And, it's working for her because, during those exchanges, she's getting work done, landing good shot."
O'Dell: "Monaco bouncing in, landing a quick one-two, slipping back to range. Circling. Bennet probing with the jab, lands a left and DROPS KELLY WITH A RIGHT! Follow up right hand from Chloe and Monaco dropped to her left side. Chloe to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Kelly rolls to her back, staring up at the referee. Eight. Nine. TEN! It's over! And your winner by KO3 in one-punch fashion is 'The Next Big Thing', Chloe Bennet!"
McCarthy: "Again. Lucky punch!"
AFTER:
O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"
Tess: "I have our winner, Chloe Bennet, and, Chloe, close fight while it lasted, but, you made sure it didn't last long."
Chloe: "She really moves well and she's hard to locate. I needed to just keep working and not get frustrated. Sooner or later, I knew I'd get her. It came sooner."
Tess: "There's been a lot of talk about who Front Street's number two bantam is now that Pink's retired..."
Chloe: "They can talk all they want. You're looking at her."
Tracy Spiridakos vs. Leven Rambin
BEFORE:
"So," says Tracy with a smile, "It's rubber match time. And, I've been looking forward to this since she beat me last August. It was the first time I'd ever lost at Asylum in FIVE tries. And, as much as I like and respect Leven, tonight will NOT be the second."
"Obviously," says a hard-eyed Leven, "Tracy is a tough nut to crack. The good news is, I've cracked it before. And, I can do it again."
ROUND ONE:
O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Blitzkrieg Bop' by the Ramones, and that can only mean that Bazz's own Tracy Spiridakos is headed to ringside..."
Cassie: "And, as Tracy pointed out, she's done very, very well here at Asylum, with wins over Rambin, Dennings, and former champion Grace Park..."
McCarthy: "That's just because none of THOSE girls are any GOOD. Spiridakos isn't anything special. She'd be nothing but a THIRD banana at Sceej, behind Munn and, of course, the Greatest Fighting Playmate of All Time!"
Tess: "I haven't seen Brenda Song tonight, have YOU, BFF?"
Cassie: "No, Tess, as a matter of fact, I HAVEN'T. And, as I have access to this arena any time of the day or night, Brenda could be just about ANYwhere right now..."
McCarthy: "Are you THREATENING me, you LITTLE..."
O'Dell: "Now, calm down, Mac. We've made it to the final fight without having to see whatever piece of sludge HBO has cued up in case it has to pull us off the air, so, let's see if we can't get all the way home, shall we? Spiridakos into the ring and helped off with the robe by the Bazz corner crew. She's wearing that white two-piece we've seen before, and that's 'Stray Heart' by Green Day you hear behind us, and that means 'The Houston Solution', Leven Rambin is coming down the aisle..."
Tess: "Rambin was in need of a big year last year, and she pulled one off, winning her first four fights and claiming some nice scalps like Frege, Ratajkowski, and, of course, Spiridakos before falling to Poppy Drayton in her final bout of the year..."
Cassie: "But, as we've been saying all night, there's opportunity for Front Street's younger bantams this year, and Leven needs to keep rolling if she wants to take that next step. But, she'll have her hands full tonight."
O'Dell: "Rambin into the ring and helped off with the robe. She's wearing that bubblegum pink two-piece Tess hates..."
Tess: "AWFUL color. Just AWFUL..."
O'Dell: "And, the ladies are about ready. Time for some picks. Tess favors Tracy. Mac?"
McCarthy: "They're both overrated. Spiridakos!"
O'Dell: "Cassie?"
Cassie: "I agree with Tess!:
O'Dell: "Here we go. Leven sets up at range and goes right to the jab. No surprise, as Rambin's one of the tallest, rangiest bantams in the FCBA. Spiridakos willing to work out here too, for the moment at least. She's giving up a little reach, but not so much that she can't use some good foot movement and angles to get where she needs to be to land solid shot."
Cassie: "Tracy's a very athletic girl, and, like ALL Bazz fighters, she's in great shape. She moves well, and she can move ALL NIGHT."
O'Dell: "Spiridakos bobbing the head, slipping punches, taking that one step forward then getting off. Leven using the long left hand very well, dropping in rights behind it. This is excellent stuff between two of the rising young bantams in the FCBA and the crowd definitely into it early, lot of buzzing going on out there."
McCarthy: "It's Philly. Standards here are LOW."
O'Dell: "Thirty seconds to go in the first. Rambin putting together a nice combination there. Tracy answers back with a solid flurry of her own. Lots of action in this first. High work rate as both fighters want to get things established right away and they've both done that. There's the bell. Close one. Rambin."
Tess: "And, in a fight between girls who are clearly closely matched, every point can be huge. Leven gets the first one and leads 10-9."
ROUND TWO:
O'Dell: "Bit more aggression from Tracy this stanza. She's bobbing forward to middle distances, getting off some heavier shot. We've all seen what Spiridakos can do with that power of hers. There are plenty of reasons she has only one loss here at Asylum, and her physicality is definitely one of them."
Cassie: "No question about it. Tracy's got power to match about anybody in this division."
O'Dell: "And, she's using it to back up Rambin right here. Leven, though, stepping in, firing right back. She's not going to allow Tracy to take control of this thing. Good exchanges now, one after another, as both fighters are looking to impose a little will and neither willing to allow that to happen at this point."
Tess: "Some really solid shot landing here, Jenny!"
O'Dell: "No doubt of it. GOOD right hand from Leven sends sweat flying and TRACY FIRES BACK WITH A COMBINATION! Leven backed up a couple of steps. Doesn't appear hurt, but it got her attention. Ten seconds to go in the second. One more BIG exchange and there's the bell. Another close one. Tracy."
McCarthy: "And, we're even at 19."
ROUND THREE:
O'Dell: "Things going back to a more even keel in the third. Leven making with that left jab. Tracy bobbing and weaving, getting to middle distances and getting off in combination. This is more good stuff from two good bantams, ladies. There's no question that both of these girls know how to box..."
McCarthy: "Then Rambin had to learn when she was at Lookout!, because she isn't learning anything from Campbell and HER crew."
O'Dell: "Spiridakos very, very slippery. She's a physical girl, as we've talked about, but she moves very well, too, and you're seeing that now. Leven, though, accurate with that left, and, when she lands it, she can follow on in combination to score points of her own. Both fighters getting some of what they want again in this round."
Tess: "And, that's the mark of a good fight. Nobody in control. Both girls getting some stuff done."
O'Dell: "Thirty to go in our third straight competitive round. Tracy slipping in a little closer now and going body. Leven responding in kind until the girls get tied up and the referee steps in to break them apart. Five seconds to go. SHARP exchange right there and that's the bell. Another close one to Leven."
Cassie: "And, Rambin back up a point, 29-28. No surprise this is close. None at all."
ROUND FOUR:
O'Dell: "Right back to the familiar pattern. Leven working at gunnery range, and Tracy looking to get just a hair closer to get off in combination. Again, both girls scoring points, both getting in rhythm, both putting punches together well. Nobody able to take control, get on the lead, throw the other girl to the defensive."
Cassie: "GOOD RIGHT HAND, TRACY!"
O'Dell: "AND A BETTER ONE FROM LEVEN! Rambin a right-hand counter and Spiridakos is hurt! Blonde calling in the reserves now as she fires away at the listing S.S. Spiridakos! Tracy backing and covering, landed her best punch of the fight and got GOBSMACKED with the response from Rambin..."
McCarthy: "Just how MANY lucky punches are Weirdo's hookers going to land tonight?"
O'Dell: "Tracy backed to the ropes, rolling with punches in a high guard. She's firing back when she can, doing a great job defensively, making a clean up difficult. Leven landing plenty, though, piling up quite the edge in this stanza. What she wants is a finisher, though, and that's going to be denied. Five seconds to go. Good right hook, Rambin, and there's the bell. Leven wide."
Tess: "But, Tracy lives to fight another day, even if she's now down a pair, 39-37."
ROUND FIVE:
O'Dell: "Rambin wants to press the issue now, but Spiridakos not having any! Tracy holding ground, banging back, stopping the blonde's offensive in its tracks. Rambin going right back to range now, wants to get back to boxing, but the Bazz bantam not having any of THAT either. Tracy wants to bring the physical!"
Cassie: "And, when she does that, lace 'em up tight."
O'Dell: "GOOD right hand, Spiridakos. Backs Rambin up. Leven giving a little ground, popping that left hand, not looking to bang with, but Tracy working inside, banging body, and SHE HURT RAMBIN WITH THAT RIGHT HOOK! Blonde's legs do a shimmy and now Spiridakos letting the hands go!"
Tess: "That was a NASTY punch. Surprised Leven's still standing..."
O'Dell: "Won't be for long if Tracy has anything to say about it. Spiridakos hammering the blonde back to the ropes, where Rambin sets up for a seige, and that's exactly what she's going to get. Bazz beauty banging away, looking to finish this thing right now. Leven hanging on as the referee looks in. Fifteen seconds left. Tracy a BIG right hand that shook the blonde again, but there's the bell. Rambin survives."
McCarthy: "And, she still leads 48-47, but she's looking more than a little wobbly on the way back to her corner."
ROUND SIX:
O'Dell: "Sixth underway and Spiridakos continuing the assault. Leven's legs not all the way back, and Tracy taking full advantage. Blonde giving ground in front of the brunette offensive, as Spiridakos gets her clean up on. Rambin countering in spots, but that's about all she can do, as Tracy's controlling things in a big way."
McCarthy: "Time to put this Dancing Hooker away, and that's just what Spiridakos is thinking."
O'Dell: "Definitely is. Rambin on the back foot, can't hold canvas as Tracy continues banging away. She's committing on her punches, sitting down on everything, looking for one more big shot that will put an end to Leven's evening. GOOD right hand there from Tracy and DOWN GOES SPIRIDAKOS! Rambin with that right hand counter and she drops Tracy to her knees!"
Tess: "Where did THAT come from?"
O'Dell: "That's what Spiridakos has to be asking as she looks up at the referee. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Tracy to her feet. She'll take the mandatory. And on comes Leven. Rambin forward slowly, getting some heavy shot home but not damning any torpedoes. Sound, careful stuff for Leven as she backs Tracy up with hard shot. Just a few seconds left in the round. No time for the blonde to finish, but she has stolen this round. There's the bell. 10-8, Leven."
Cassie: "And, we were thisclose to being even on the cards. Instead, it's Leven 58-55, and my girl Trace needs to get moving."
ROUND SEVEN:
O'Dell: "Rambin carefully pressing the advantage now. Tracy still a little unsteady. She's giving ground grudgingly, making the blonde pay a price for every inch of canvas. Leven willing to pay. She's got a lead and the brunette on her heels now. Spiridakos moving a little better as the round goes on. Able to stay off the ropes, turn Rambin..."
Cassie: "An, that's key right now. You want to move laterally, not just backward."
O'Dell: "And, Tracy now able to do that. Leven still having the better of things, but Spiridakos beginning to stabilize her front, and, with the deficit she's facing on the cards, she's doing it none too soon. Tracy now holding ground, and Leven no longer pressing forward. Instead, they're back to working at range."
Tess: "Nice recovery for Tracy. She's getting back into the fight."
O'Dell: "That she is. Fighting on even terms as we roll into the final minute of the round and THERE'S A RIGHT HAND FROM LEVEN! Tracy hurt again! Spiridakos covering up. And DOWN SHE GOES! A NASTY flurry from Rambin and Tracy is dropped to her back! Rambin to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Spiridakos rolls to her belly. Seven. Eight. Tracy pushes to hands and knees. Nine. To her feet...NO! It's too late! Referee waiving it off. Spiridakos can't quite beat the count and it's OVER! And your winner by KO7 is 'The Houston Solution', Leven Rambin!"
McCarthy: "Yet ANOTHER lucky punch. UnbeLIEVable!"
AFTER:
O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"
Tess: "I have our winner, Leven Rambin, and, Leven, that was some fight in there..."
Leven (nodding): "Always is when we get together. She's top notch, and, if you get in with her, you've got to bring everything you have to have a chance."
Tess: "And, you brought it."
Leven (smiling): "Yeah. I did. Gotta, you know? This was a big opportunity for me to prove I could step up to the upper levels of the division, and I had to take advantage of it."
Live Streaming of Post-Fight Press Conference
The Man In The Hat sits, as usual, at the center of the dais. To his left are Kristen Stewart, Daniela Ruah, Hunter King, Mariska Hargitay, Leelee Sobieski, Jewel, Grace Park, and Alison Brie. To his right sit Leven Rambin, Kat Dennings, Chloe Bennet, Britney Spears, Neve Campbell, Pink, Grace Park, and Avril Lavigne.
Man In The Hat: "All right, as usual, before we get to questions, there are some people I want to thank. Let's start with our friends at Bazz, the OTHER home team at the Asylum. Another great fight tonight, and, trust me, we've got even MORE fun things planned as the year goes on. Our indie girls were a big part of this tonight, as always, and you saw some talented fighters tonight, some girls who had a chance and, maybe, deserve a second one. And, last but certainly not least, the FCBA Commission for sanctioning these fights and making Asylum possible. Now. Questions. Cable Boy. Go!"
HBO Reporter: "I guess the biggest win tonight was Rambin. She's certainly come a long way, from having to have a big year to pushing for that number two spot in your bantam pecking order..."
Man In The Hat: "Leven's a girl who's always had a high ceiling. It was just a matter of getting her rising. Now that that's happened, I suspect there aren't many limits to where she can go. Not many at all. Cable Boy II. Talk to me!"
Showtime Reporter: "Speaking of bantams, your number two right now, according to the rankings, anyway, is Bennet, and she didn't hurt herself tonight..."
Man In The Hat: "Chloe, obviously, has as many tools in the box as any girl we have. We expect big things from her, and every time she goes out there, she shows you why. Right now, that battle for the second spot in the bantam pecking order is a three-way affair, and Ms. Bennet is right in the middle of it. Brunette Magazine! How about a question?"
Brunette Magazine Reporter: "And, the third one of those bantams is Kat..."
Man In The Hat: "Correct. Kat is definitely in that conversation. Had a great year last year, and she's started this one very well. She's continuing her push toward being a contender, and we think she can get there in 2017. Tess, dear, go ahead."
Tess: "Nice win for Ruah tonight..."
Man In The Hat: "No doubt about it. Dani's won just about as many big fights as anyone in our stable. She just happens to be in a ridiculously deep and talented division here, with FOUR other girls who've won titles. A lot of stables, she'd be the number one light. She's not that here at the moment, but she has the talent to be. Smackeroo! Dinner time. Take us there!"
Reporter: "Let's talk about your newbie, Hunter King, and Stewart. Had to see a lot to like from both of them tonight..."
Man In The Hat: "Kristen is at the top of our flyweights, and she's been there for some time. There's a reason for that. She's got a ton of talent. And, it was on display tonight just like it always is. As for Hunter, yes, there were things to like and plenty of them. Of course, it wasn't all great, and, in your first FCBA fight, it won't be. There's stuff to work on. And, we're going to work on it. But, the package is there. She's got championship talent. She just needs work and training and we're going to give those to her. Now. Dinner time! Tess! Smackey! Limo!"

Tess! Smackey! Limo!"
