Our reporter and his blonde companion sit watching baseball at Bazz with Cassandra Lynn Scerbo, Poindexter Del Crunchy, and the Man In The Hat.
Reporter: "Well, Wiz, an exciting weekend, and not a bad one for Front Street. 7-1. You'd take that any time you could get it..."
Man In The Hat (nodding): "Agreed. Saw some good stuff from some of our girls. Chloe was, as always, impressive. Liked what I saw from Taylor, which ain't a surprise. Mudd continues to impress me, as does Del Toro. Katy's looking like making another title run, and Kat's Kat. Good stuff from her as usual."
Tess: "What about Kennedy. Nice PPV win for her..."
Man In The Hat: "As it is on all girls at her level of development, the jury is still out on Kennedy. That being said, I definitely liked what I saw against Hadid. There's a lot of talent in there. We'll see if it all comes together for her."
Reporter: "Unfortunately, the one loss was the title fight..."
Man In The Hat: "Well, again, we were dogs in that fight, as you will be against Kendall Jenner. That being said, in our last EIGHT title fights, we've come up with the belt exactly ONCE. Now, one of those fights was Brit comin' out of retirement for a one-time only fight. So, to be fair, you can throw that out. But. That's still 1-6 in title fights. We have GOT to do better than THAT."
Tess: "I know you said that your title streak, the one where you've won a belt nine years in a row, is going to come to an end..."
Man In The Hat (nodding): "It IS, and that number I just gave you is why. We HAVE to get better results on the big stage and in the biggest fights. Or, we're gonna become a second-level stable. And, believe me, we are NOT gonna become a second-level stable...if you get my meaning."
Cassie: "That being said, our most impressive streak, having held a title in every year of our existence, will continue. Twelve straight years, including our FIRST year."
Pointy: "And, we still DO have five months of 2021 to go, so we've still got some time..."
Reporter: "I was going to mention that..."
Man In The Hat (shaking his head): "Not gonna happen. We aren't fighting for the welter, JMD, JMDD, or Ice Hotel titles. We've had a bantam shot and a lightweight shot in the last two months. Other stables deserve chances there. And, we haven't had a shot at fly since Stewart won the belts two and a half years ago, and that's not gonna change as long as O&E has 'em..."
Tess: "But, Holt..."
Man In The Hat: "They have no intention of fighting us. None. We're hearin' all this stuff about how Winter should have had the shot THIS month and all that, and, next month's decision's already been made, and, it has something in common with every other title opportunity O&E has given out at flyweight. It ain't going to us. They've got the top one-two punch? Yeah, well, that's an interestin' claim, since they won't FIGHT MY one-two punch of Stewart and Winter. But, we ain't gonna waste any more time botherin' about that. It is what it is. The streak is gonna come to an end. Hopefully, next year, we'll start a new streak."
Tess: "Let's talk about your 'meaning'. You said earlier chances were there wasn't going to be a major reorg in 2022, even though the last two even years, you've had big ones..."
Man In The Hat: "And, my opinion hasn't changed. Could we see a move or two? It's possible, and that depends on a lot of things. We've got some fighters in their mid-30s around here, and they may make decisions like Anna and Grace and Brit and others have to step away and step into front office jobs. There are also a couple of girls we want to see a little more from. Now, could a perfect storm come of all that? Sure. Is it likely? No. I think it's most likely we have the same roster at the beginning of 2022 as we do right now. It's possible there'll be a change or two. That's less likely. Even less likely is a big reorg. But, it's possible."
Reporter: "So, it's August..."
Cassie: "The announcement isn't ours."
Pointy: "It is not."
Man In The Hat: "But, I think between that and Asylum, we're gonna have a big month. We may well sit out the PPV. We'll see. Now, let's watch some ball, shall we?"
