TESS VALMORE
SAGE/MUDD. Both entered the FCBA in 2018. Their careers have taken quite different paths. Mudd lost her first bout to Lind in a JMD fight. Since then she has won eleven straight. She has won three fights this year. That matches the number of fights Sage has had in her career. Unfortunately the number of fight Mudd has won this year equals the number of fights Sage has lost. She is 0-3 for her career. I doubt that Mudd is going to have much trouble putting Sage away before the end of the fifth
STAITE/DENNINGS. They both broke into the FCBA in 2011. Like the previous fight, their careers have taken completely different courses. Staite had two fights in 2013. Both were against Neve Campbell and she won one. That was her last fight. This will be her first fight in eight years. Now the Wiz is not going to admit it, but I think Dennings is on short string. He will say she is one of the best bantams on the planet and maybe she is. She has a 46-14 record which means she has won 75% of her fights. Yet in all that time, she has had only one title fight, which she lost and that was two years ago. One title fight in eleven years, I don’t think lives up to Front Street standards, no matter what your record is. Front Street is all about titles, record be damned. Front Street has canned a lot of members who had fine records. She has dropped out of the top ten and now sits on the third bantam seat. Unless something dramatic happens, I think she may be cut at the end of the year. Of course, she will win this fight. It won’t help her
J.KELLY/PERRY. For the newcomers, Perry and I are not friends and that is an understatement. As I have previously told you, my boss told me if I wanted to continue to keep my grossly overpaid job I would have to “shut the f—k up about Perry” I like my grossly overpaid job. Perry will win
HELFER/DEL TORO Del Toro draws the most dangerous fighter on the card. Helfer is a two time champion with a 42-23 record. She is now 47 years old and has lost her last five fights which were to Perry (remember what my boss said), Decker, Kendall Jenner, Arterton and Theron. In the Theron bout which was in April, in the fifth round, a round of the year type, she was one count away from KOing the Goddess and then one punch away from TKOing her, but Theron brawled her way back and fight round ended with a Theron TKO win. Helfer can still fight. Del Toro is being brought along slowly and has won all ten of her fights. Helfer is going to be a huge test. Del Toro is almost twenty years younger. I like the youth advantage in this fight. I think Front Street’s strategy is to take this fight into the later rounds where youth counts more. I going to take a chance on Del Toro. If Front Street loses a bout on this card, this will be it.
DURANCE/T.HILL. Durance is a three time lightweight champion with a 43-26-1 record. She has fought all the top fighters of her era. She went to the down side in 2014 and lost ten of her last thirteen. She is now 43 years of age. I like Hill. She broke into the FCBA in 2017 and since then has won one lightweight title and has a 27-4 record. I think she is going to be the best champion that Front Street has had to date regardless of the weight class. She is eighteen years younger and almost three inches taller. Hill will win
WILDE/BENNET. Wilde comes in with a 28-24 record. She was a top ten bantam for a long while, but never won title. She turned to the downside in 2017 and now has lost twelve of her last fifteen. This is the wrong time to fight Bennet regardless of what your record is. She lost a title fight to Scott in the PPV last month. She’s going to be in no mood to play around. Bennet will win probably in six. Wilde won’t make it easy but she is not the fighter that Bennet is
