Our reporter and his blonde companion sit in the Man In The Hat's office at Front Street, on chairs in front of the desk, alongside Cassandra Lynn Scerbo.
Reporter: "So, good night for Front Street last night, Wiz..."
Man In The Hat (smiling): "Yes, it was. Lots of talent on this roster..."
Tess: "Yet, you've said a reorg is possible for 2022..."
Man In The Hat: "Yes, it is. Again, my HOPE and my plan as we sit here is to go into 2022 with exactly the same roster we have right now..."
Cassie (nodding): "We have a very good mix right now. At fly, we have two contenders in Kris and Ariel and two talented younger girls, Billie and Meg, who are getting better every time out..."
Man In The Hat (nodding): "Same good mix at bantam. Chloe and Kat are veteran contenders. Lili's moved into that category. Sophie's developed very nicely and should be joining them, and we're very high on Peyton."
Cassie: "And, we've got that 3-2 mix at light, with Gemma, Katy, and Taylor as top contenders with Kara and Kennedy developing behind them..."
Tess (smiling): "And, yet..."
Man In The Hat: "And yet, there are things we need to do better, as we discussed. My BELIEF is that this group can get that done. And, if they do? This roster will be exactly the same on New Year's Day as it is right now. If not? There might be a change or two. Or, we might go big again. Do I think that will happen? No. But, today, it remains possible."
Reporter (smiling): "Mr. V thinks you should talk more about Decker and Hoopes..."
Man In The Hat: "Cassandra Lynn, why don't you explain to Smackeroo why we don't spend more time discussing Ms. Decker around here..."
Cassie: "Three reasons. First, she fights welterweight. We do NOT fight welterweight. Therefore, we don't spend a lot of time or effort on the welterweight division around here. That's why we don't talk a lot about Upton or Righetti or Ferguson or Tahnee, either. We concentrate on the three divisions we compete in. Second, she also fights JMDD. We do an occasional JMDD fight, but we do NOT compete for the title there, so we don't spend any time worrying about JMDD, either. Third, Brooke is a former Front Street fighter, meaning that, even if she were competing in a division where we compete, we STILL wouldn't be fighting her, so, again, we're not spending any time and effort worrying about what Brooke does or doesn't do."
Reporter: "What about Hoopes?"
Man In The Hat: "I like Hoopes, a LOT. We scouted the kid, had her on the shortlist between the time she lost her management and Chimera picked her up. She's a local girl. We could get in the limo right now and be in Doylestown in 45 minutes. We even fought her a couple of years ago, when we did the Queendom card. But, she's mostly been fighting JMDD..."
Cassie: "Sixteen fights. Thirteen at JMD/D."
Man In The Hat: "And, again, we don't compete for that title. Now. That having been said, Hoopes IS a lightweight and she's had a couple of solid wins in traditional fights. If she continues that campaign, we WILL take some more note of the kid. And, for the record, I'm VERY pleased to see her doing well. And, do you know what ELSE I'm always pleased to see? Chef grilling steaks..."
Tess: "Let's GO!"
