TESS VALMORE (Queen of the FCBA press)
The Doll Ball Season 4 Round 2 is in the books. It was a fine six fight card that the Dollhouse crew swept against some good opposition
Ginny Gardner opened the card against Caylee Cowan. I was of the opinion that Gardner would be in trouble with Carmen, if she lost this bout. Her opponent had had only three fights, but had won them all. Gardner lost two of the first three rounds, but come on strong to take the fourth. In the fifth, Ginny decked Cowan, who managed to get her feet only to be reduced to a bloody mess before the referee stopped the fight.
Winnick faced Melissa Benoist. Katheryn needed to win this fight as she had lost five of her last eight. She has an excellent record, but the attitude of most managers is “What have you done recently?” Winnick came through with flying colors with a fifth round KO win
Lavigne took care of Stella Hudgens although it took her longer than I anticipated. I thought it would go four. It went eight. I said the only reason for this fight was to get her sister in the ring. The blood hadn’t been wiped off Stella’s face before Vanessa was raging on the internet. Lavigne is going to get the fight she wanted. The question is, Will she regret it?
I wouldn’t say that Bella Thorne was at her best, but she was good enough this night to take care of Luisana Lopilato in six
Alison Brie defeated Gillian Jacobs with a seven round KO in a “Community Showdown” Kind of meaningless to me. I knew Alison from my assignment at Front Street. I had never heard of Gillian Jacobs and have never seen “Community”. The fight was good enough to keep me from going to the bar
The fight with Emma Roberts was a big chance for Jessica Lowndes. She hadn’t been doing all that well recently It’s been close to three years since she had a title match. Her victory over Roberts by a six round KO could put her back in the title shot race. This was the second time she faced Roberts and she has won both
