TESS VALMORE
Rousey took care of Tate with a six round KO. It was a little harder for her than I thought as Tate got in some good licks. Rousey forgot where she was. After she won, She climbed the ropes and beat her chest like King Kong. That’s WWE stuff. It’s not done in the more cultured FCBA. Not only that but her coach called her the best fighter in the world. The poor man needs help and needs help badly. So much for Rousey. Do you think I’m a fan?
In a cougar bout, Stana Katic won over Angie Harmon by a KO5. I have to wonder about Katic’s ego. She wonders why Charlize isn’t fighting her. It doesn't occur to her that she wasn’t in the FCBA until last month. She thinks she should fight the Goddess? Well, she will have to wait as I happen to know that that the GOAT has fights either scheduled or lined up through next March.
Kendrick dominated the first three rounds of her fight with Madison Beer. Beer came on strong in the fourth and in the fifth she ended Kendricks night with a right hook. A fairly good performance for Beer. As for Kendrick, she went through 2018 and 2019 without winning a fight. She made a moderate comeback last year. but now seems to be getting into the 2018-19 groove as she has lost both her bouts this year.
The Maisie Williams/Moretz bout followed the pattern of the above bout. Williams took the first two rounds and after that is was all Chloe who finished Williams off in the fifth round with a left hook to the ear. I would like to see some more action from Moretz
Minka Kelly won this fight by a seventh round KO. She is destined for the Hall Of Fame. She has win ratio already sowed up. All she needs is bouts. If management can keep her busy with a fight a month, she should get into the Hall in the second quarter of next year. Chopra didn’t make it easy for Minka, but she finally punched Chopra out on the ropes for the win
The card up to this point went as I expected. I thought Lily would beat Gomez but the loss didn’t particularly surprise me. It was fine fight. Lily decked Selena in the fourth and I had her ahead on the cards going into the seventh. That round Selena came back to take the round and in the eighth it wasn’t a big blockbuster punch to the chin that ended a fight. Although a left hook to the chin set it up, it was an uppercut to the body that put Lily down for the count. Selena certainly threw her hat into the title fight picture in the highly competitive bantam title shot picture. As far Lily she is having the same problem that seems to effect Hall Of Fame fighters. She doesn't know when to quit
The Strahovski/Huntington-Whiteley fight was everything we expected. HW was ahead on the cards at the end of five. Yvonne seemed to take over then and won a series of closely scored rounds. I think the handwriting was on the wall when Yvonne decked Rosie in the eighth. I don’t believe Rosed recovered from that knockdown and Strahovski decked her again in the ninth, this time for keeps. Surely this win should put Yvonne in line for a title shot
