May VIX: Sun Burn City @ the Yuenling Centre (May 8th)

1. Prelims: Eden Cohen vs Holly Graves

BEFORE:
Eden Cohen not looking too hot after getting thrashed about in her second match by the voluptuous Valentina Fradegrada. As a result, she looks a little more subdued during the pre-fight presser, pursing her lips as she responds to a reporter's question regarding her future in the ring:
"Well, I'm here, aren't I?" the Israeli model rolls her eyes at the insinuation she'd give up at the slightest hint of trouble. "Valentina was just a side-bump on the road, and anyway, the b*tch cheated in the fight. I wasn't ready to go down yet but the referee intervened anyways. Today though, I'll prove why I deserve to be here."
Holly Graves is her opponent for this opening contest, sporting the same size and assets as Eden's past opponent for contrast. The Aussie blonde acknowledges this fact as much, smirking from across the table before replying:
“She likes to challenge herself, doesn’t she? I was just as surprised as anyone that the VIX crew called me up for a third bout with a newbie. Only tonight, Eden’s getting into the ring with a Welterweight fighter Hasn’t she learned her lesson from her last beating”
Regardless, ladies are sporting the same one-all fight record as they enter this fight, so it’s the perfect preliminary match to open this event at the Yuenling Centre in downtown Tampa, Florida. Summer is in full swing as we kick off another VIX event, and rumour has it our local scouts are out in force, scouting for an up-and-coming wrestling event on white sands.
For now, Eden and Holly face off on stage, the same height and weight between blonde and brunette, but Graves looks like she’s sporting a couple more pounds than her counterpart. Fight night rolls round and lanky ladies are ready to set off from their respective corners, Eden wearing a sultry maroon lingerie set and black gloves, brown hair tied into a ponytail out back, whereas Cohen has opted for a military-olive sports bra and fighting briefs, white gloves on either hand. Referee waves to start and HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Lightweight action!
ROUND 1:
Ladies circle to start, Holly only getting back into the action as she fends off some early jabs at her head. Eden’s definitely the more enthusiastic of the pair but she’s still new to this boxing thing and worst, coming off a painful loss, taking punishment back on the face as Graves counter-punches with equal spirit. Middle minute sees the big Aussie blonde squeeze another one-two combo right to the kisser, further deterring the Israeli model from coming in fast to brawl. Cohen struggles to find her own groove and fighting style, which is normal for all newcomers to the ring. Only problem is that she’s bleeding points here as a result, with Graves mopping up at the last minute, renewed aggression and combos chasing Eden to her head to win the round close.
ROUND 2:
Cohen’s fighting smarter, testing out some of those long sea legs as she evades more punches rather than absorbs them straight to her face like last time. The brown-haired vixen keeps her distance, blasting nice shots into Holly’s frame only when she has a clear and straight chance to land. Graves started the round with more confidence, charging in to smack a hook to Cohen’s arms, but another swish to the body misses, as Cohen finds out how agile she can be against a taller, bulkier opponent. Return jabs pester Holly’s head throughout, Eden scoring repeatedly on the side of the face as Graves lets out shout after shout of getting pushed back. Tables turned fast this round as Eden puts on a display worthy of any other competitor out there, deterring the blonde’s advance and scoring the round wide at the same time.
ROUND 3:
A blasting shot to the body knocks the wind out of Eden’s body, however, when she got sloppy and allowed Graves to come in close in the first minute. Holly’s answer to the last round is even more aggression and a greater show of power, taking wide swings at the Israeli, hoping to score a knockout upset like she suffered in her previous match. Let’s not forget that Graves herself didn’t fare too well against a certain Hailey Clauson, though don’t let her catch you saying that name on your lips. She scores another left-right combo to the arms before a right hook almost takes Eden off her feet as it slams into the side of her head. Thankfully, Cohen is big enough to withstand the impact, though it sends her stumbling off a couple of feet. Well, better sent into the ropes than into the ground, we always say, and Eden manages to survive another minute with constant movement and evasion, though it means she has to concede this third round by a wide margin.
ROUND 4:
A RETURN blasting uppercut scores to the paunch and Eden lands her revenge! Holly wasn’t paying attention to her southward defenses, kept taking swings at the brunette’s head and hoping to knock her out early, but Cohen expertly weaved and telegraphed her attacks this time, returning fire with a nasty shot up into the midsection, another uppercut hitting the blonde on her chest and further throwing her backwards. Holly too stunned to reply, has to contend with renewed aggression from Cohen, who opts to CHARGE in to try and finish her off! Some fire indeed in the brunette’s eyes as she hounds her foe with powerful shots to the arms, headhunting with a hook or two into the side of the head and sent around the guard. Holly looks hurt, to be honest, but hanging in there, keeping her face buried down in her arms and in constant retreat for the rest of this round. A shutout performance for Cohen by the time the bell rings, and we think this might be the best round EVER of the newcomer’s short career.
ROUND 5:
Holly melting, slowly, but surely, finding difficulty landing her shots on the lean girl and at the same time, taking fire with stiff thumps to her tummy or sides, her arms slowly getting broken apart as Cohen comes charging in with more powerful hooks. Holly trying to brawl with someone who’s built more for agility and speed, with Cohen easily slipping in and out of the pocket before pummeling her between the arms, shots landing to her body, chest, and up into the chin, snapping the head back in the third minute with a ROCKING uppercut to the jawline, and THAT’S IT - HOLLY LOOKS GROGGY AS HELL!! Cohen charging in and after, an eager smirk on her face and equally determined hot huffs as she forces another straight cross through the Aussie’s guard - KAPOW!! She stuns Graves on the chin, and DOWN she goes!! That seems to be it! It’s the one and ONLY KNOCKDOWN of this match and Graves is barely making any moves to recover, merely staring up at the stadium lights as the referee counts her chances all the way out to 10!! IT’S OVER!

AFTER:
Celebrations in order as Eden wins partial redemption for her earlier loss. The athletic model leaps into the air almost immediately at the sound of the bell ringing rapidly, grinning wide and genuinely happy she’s prevailed this time around. No doubt there’s some partial relief as well as the pressure to perform gets lifted from those beautiful shoulders, and Cohen can breathe a sigh of relief after knowing she’s back on the right track.
Meanwhile, Graves suffers another road bump on her way to making this boxing thing work. She manages to sit back up on the ropes moments later, breathing hard and wondering what her next step might be in the ring. Cohen, however, has a ready answer for her, marching over seconds later and burying both hands into the top of her hair, cooing down as she poses above with her stretched out body.
Looks like Cohen has a bone or two to pick with other lanky blondes as she delivers a hard slap to Graves face, trying to wipe that look of defiance clean and off, before posing for the cameras with Holly’s cheeks mused together by a vice grip. Holly just too tired to resist, and thankfully, Eden doesn’t opt to take the humiliation any further, for now...
