Out of Character:
This entire post will be out of character, so it's best to get that off right away. It's with some sadness but also of some personal relief for me to announce the effective end of The Comediennes stable. Many of you may have seen this coming with my absence from the board for a while.
First, to give some reasoning to behind my decision. As some of you may remember a few months ago I suffered a significant shoulder injury which made writing prolonged stories pretty much unattainable. I had to take a step back from the board then and the truth is I never truly found my passion for writing the FCBA matches since then. My shoulder is much better now and my desire to write fighting fiction hasn't ended, however my passion for the FCBA has. This is a completely personal decision on my end. Lookout, Vassago, and Archer have been nothing but helpful every single step of the way. Lookout in particular has been patient with my writing process slowing down. The other stables/users here have also been nothing but welcoming. Whether we set up short-lived rivalries or just chatted about who we think would win in fights, the community here has been very welcoming and creative the entire process.
However, that can only go so far. My enthusiasm for this project no longer exists. I have sat down and tried to write a fight over the past several weeks and I keep finding myself unable to meet the standards I have set for myself as well as the consistent standard of writing this board knows. The drive doesn't exist for me anymore. So, I must walk away from the FCBA when it comes to boxing matches. This means every fighter currently signed to The Comediennes is now free to sign/use: Elyse Willems, Rashida Jones, Rachel Brosnahan, Alanah Pearce, and Alyssa Milano. They are now officially free agents.
This announcement is not goodbye, though. While The Comediennes is retiring and I am retiring from FCBA fights, I am not retiring from posting on the board. I have a new project that I am so excited to bring to the FCBA. I have spoken to Lookout about it and we will be announcing it soon. So please look forward to the upcoming announcement. I'm very excited to continue to share my fight fiction with you all in a space where I have a little more narrative control and am not constrained to the boxing ring to decide the winners/losers. While this project will be my creative vision, I will be more than willing to collaborate with any of the talented writers on this board who want to take part in the project. Just send me a message once it's announced and we can hammer out the details.
Until then, I hope everyone had a happy and healthy holiday. Thank you all for the support you showed The Comediennes during their brief time here. And if you have any questions on the fighters who used to be in the stable I'm always willing to offer my perspective on how they would fight/handle certain situations. Thank you for understanding and I'll see you around the boards.
