Intro:
Now to the second bout tonight in the third round of Diamond Boxing Tournament action, Camille Kostek is one of the front runners for the title, will Damaris Lewis throw a spanner in the works here in the Bridgestone Arena?
Camille is tied for the lead currently with Karen Gillan, both having won their first two fights, for Camille it started with a hard fought win over Romee Strijd in eight rounds, a much easier night in some respects in her second round fight as Camille knocked out Antje Utgaard in just four rounds to possibly take out a big rival for this title.
Before the bout both were asked to do a video for the FCBA Network on their thoughts, in Camille's she sat on the stool in a white blouse with the front slightly open to hint at the black bra underneath, denim blue jeans and heels finished her look as she was understandably beaming about how things are going.
"I know I was dubbed the favourite by pundits and some managers but honestly I never expected to start so strong, beating Antje last month the way I did was so amazing, the next group of fights in this tournament has me so excited" tapping her knees twice with both hands as she looks to be buzzing.
"I mean I'm fighting the BBU champion, Damaris I know will be coming hard after her defeat last month to Romee (Strijd) so I need to be at my best, how good I've been so far has me feeling more confident then I have in a while, the road to the top goes through me girls" winking as she stands up, blowing a kiss to the camera before she heads off set.
As Camille said in her video, Damaris comes into this fight on a loss in the tournament to Romee in six rounds, that has put a dent in one of the dark horses of the tournaments chances, though Damaris can at least be happy she got off the blocks strong with a win over Danielle Herrington in six rounds.
Damaris heads onto the set wearing a black dress with matching heels, she sits on the stool looking in a foul mood as she shakes her head almost looking like she just wants to get up and leave without saying a word.
She decides she wants to air her feelings as she tells the camera "Romee you lucky bytch! Next time I see your flat ass in that ring or even outside it, I'm going to knock you out!" Fists clenched as she looks ready to throw punches already.
Taking a deep breath to calm herself down, Damaris then changes the subject, saying "now to Kostek, you think because you beat two nobodies that the world is yours, honey you ain't fought nobody like me before, I will rip your motherf***ing head off your shoulders if you give me the chance, I am not in the mood to be f***ed with" standing up pushing the stool over to relieve some of her anger, Damaris heads off looking like she will be hard to cool off.
Fight night, out comes Camille first with Nadia Bjorlin to her right, big smiles on both their faces as they enjoy the chants from the crowd, Camille looking relaxed as she knows a win here could really help pull her away from the middle pack in this tournament.
She is wearing a silver sports bra, matching trunks, shoes and gloves, her surname is in gold letters across her waistband, hair tied into a ponytail, she slides through the ropes into the ring shadow boxing at the ring center before heading to her corner.
Damaris heads out with her coach behind her, the scowl hasn't left her face from the video she did, walking down to the ring banging her gloves together like a drum beat of doom for her opponent in the city of music Nashville.
She is wearing shoes and gloves, hair tied into a ponytail too, she steps into the ring giving her opponent a quick death stare before heading to her corner, where she begins to warm up by using her coaches hands as punch pads.
The referee waves the fighters to the ring center, where they square right up to each other, Damaris gives Camille a shove, with coaches needing to hold the fighters back as Damaris nearly causes a brawl and the bell hasn't rung yet.
Before they head back to their corners the referee warns Damaris to not overstep tonight, Damaris staring angrily at them, then they both jog back to their corners with no touch of gloves, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.
Round 1:
Kicking off the fight on the front foot, both women let their hands go in close as they look to put their stamp of authority on this fight, Camille landing two hard hooks to the body that makes Damaris step back to win the early exchange.
When Camille tries to press forwards Damaris lands a double jab into her face, maybe realising that she can't bully Camille that easily, she starts to use her rangy punches into the gloves and face of the blonde to keep her on the outside.
After the energetic opening minute, things don't slow down as Camille parries a jab to move inside to land a jab of her own into the chest of her opponent, a right cross follows to turn Lewis's head to the side as now Kostek begins to press forwards.
As Damaris is near the ropes she gives Camille a shove with her left, then strikes with a right across her face to get off the ropes, Camille tries to close the distance a little too quickly as she eats a one-two punch into her face while loading up.
Things seem to settle down as they head into the home stretch, Damaris keeping Camille at arms length as she takes the middle, catching her slightly smaller opponent more then she is getting hit in these exchanges at range.
The end of the round comes with Damaris getting a nod from her coach, happy to see her win the early argument in this fight, the Bonzo corner though don't look too worried themselves as Nadia tells Camille to keep the temperature up on her opponent.
Round 2:
Wanting to rely more on her range to set up her big right, Damaris moves more side to side to keep out of Camille's firing line, landing stiff punches through her gloves into her stunning face to get her coach nodding with a grin.
Timing her attacks better is Camille, she dips under a straight to step in with several hooks to the body, Damaris groaning out as she finds herself being driven onto the ropes, needing to pull her rival into a clinch to slow her down.
Broken apart so they can continue, Damaris doubles up her jab as she certainly doesn't want to be eating those hooks all night, when she tries a right cross though Kostek steps inside with a right into her chest, then another left hook to the body.
Damaris is getting mauled onto the ropes by Camille, who looks like she wants to rip through the sides of the black fighter, who again needs to clinch up as she barks at the referee to tell Camille to keep her head out her face, Camille nodding as she dragged off Damaris.
The final moments of the round Damaris looks relieved as she lands more pinpoint strikes into the face of Camille to keep her at range, at the bell Damaris bangs her gloves together in a rage at what happened, Camille just sitting on her stool barely looking bothered by her opponent.
Round 3:
Stepping back out their corners, they are both trying to enforce their will on the fight, Damaris having to step back more then she would like, Camille keeping on the front foot as the crowd is loving this fight, cheering loudly for their favourite.
Getting pushed back by Lewis, Kostek takes a double jab/straight into her face, that seems to ward her off for the time being, with the New Yorker pushing the pace over the second minute with straight punches finding gaps in the guard of Camille.
But as they enter the final minute, Camille duck under a left cross to bury in a straight to the abs of her opponent, an overhand left smacks Lewis across her face as she finds herself being driven backwards, the turnbuckles on her back as Camille rips into her.
Looking thoroughly pissed off as she needs to hold onto the rampaging Camille, the referee steps in and doesn't catch what looks to be an errand right knee of Damaris in the stomach of Camille, she feigns ignorance when the referee wonders what happened.
Damaris knocking back Camille in the final seconds of the round when they resume, at the end of the round Camille complains to the referee with Nadia, both told the referee can't call what they didn't see, Damaris grinning like a Cheshire cat as she sits on her stool watching it play out.
Round 4:
That knee seems to have taken a little steam off out Camille, it doesn't help that Damaris is landing some hard punches through her gloves into her face, forcing Kostek to cover up more then she would like.
Pressing the action more now that she has the upper hand, Damaris is swinging in more of her heavy handed hooks, Camille needing to block them as the crack of leather when they meet her gloves shows the evil intentions behind them.
Camille manages to come out her shell at the half way point with a double jab into the chest of her opponent, she steps in with two rights into the body before she is shoved back by Damaris.
Who lands a right square into the face of Camille to ward her off, Damaris stepping around the powerhouse blonde, snapping in more headhunting punches as maybe she should be targeting the body more of her opponent to make her thing twice about trying to raid her.
As near the end of the round Camille lands a crisp overhand left as she dips under a right, two uppercuts to the body of Lewis follow as she is pressed into the ropes, both snarling as they bang away in close, even landing a few after the bell as tempers are boiling over.
Sitting on their stools with both starting to have puffiness around their cheeks, eyes burning a hole through their rival as their coaches work on patching them up, it feels like the powder keg is ready to explode between them.
Round 5:
Pushing the pace more as she throws in bunches, Damaris takes the center of the ring early on with a one-two punch into the forehead of Camille, sweat goes flying as she follows with a right hook to the side of her head.
This looks to be one of Damaris's best spells of the fight, Camille struggling to land more then single punches out her guard as Damaris looks focused on hurting her, swinging in more hooks to the side of Kostek's head to make her groan.
But it leaves Damaris open to an uppercut that knocks her head back, a right cross follows as Camille barks in effort, her left eye is looking a little swollen, now she is channeling her anger into knocking back her rival across the ring.
Clinging onto Camille, Damaris bangs in rights to the kidneys of the blonde, almost getting shoved through the ropes in response as the referee breaks them apart, warning them to obey their orders with both nodding with eyes full of hate for their opponent.
Seconds left in the round with Damaris popping out her jab, trying to slow down the charges of her rival, who comes on hard with a right square into the solar plexus of Lewis, an overhand left smacking her on the jaw just before the bell rings, referee quick to step between them, both stare hard before returning to their corners needing the break to get clean up.
Round 6:
Coming out their corners with eyes locked, Damaris tries to push the pace again but this time she misses with her straight, CAMILLE COUNTERS WITH A STRAIGHT INTO THE LIVER OF DAMARIS, WHO FALLS TO ALL FOURS COUGHING!
What a strike that was! Camille doesn't gloat as she heads to the neutral corner with eyes locked on Damaris, 1...2...3....4... Who spits out her gumshield to try to get more air into her body, 5....6...7.. But she is looking badly hurt as she stares hard at the canvas while holding her stomach with her right, 8...9...10 that's it! Damaris is counted out on all fours!

That was a physical war that ended in brutal fashion, Damaris is still sucking in air as Camille comes over to her, telling Lewis "that's for the knee you cheap cow!" Then heads to her corner with her arms in the air as the crowd roars for her.
Damaris on the other hand needs to be helped to her knees, an ice pack put on her body as she sobs, eyes locked on Camille as she tells her coach "that... F***ing bytch... Got lucky" still gasping a little as her breath slowly returns as the pain goes.
In the Bonzo corner Nadia kisses Camille on her cheeks, telling her "another one down, not long now and I can call you a diamond Queen" making Camille grin as she tells Nadia to stop with the coronation speak this early in the tournament.
Meanwhile Damaris is now up and she with help leaves the ring, not wanting any part of Camille's celebration, instead she has to lick her wounds tonight and wonder how she is going to make a move up the rankings in this tournament, one win in three doesn't look great for her.
In the ring Camille ignores Damaris as she jogs to the center of the ring, getting her left hand raised by the referee to make the result official, the favourite for the tournament marches on with a perfect three and zero record in these matches, that favourite tag isn't weighing her down yet.
Posing for the cameras with her left arm around the shoulders of Nadia, both smiling as they raise their right index finger to show they are number one, all eyes will be on the main event to see if Karen Gillan can keep pace with Kostek as both are looking the top fighters to beat so far.
Stepping out the ring, Camille blows kisses to her fans on the trek up the aisle, probably going to have a shiner of a left eye but a proud winner tonight, Camille will be enjoying the ice bath.
