TESS VALMORE
The February PPV featured three title bouts. For the first time in a long time, all three titles changes hands, as Holt beat Collins for the flyweight title, Scott took the bantam title from Bella Thorne and Upton ended Palicki’ short reign, I can’t remember the last time that happened
There were only four welter fights on the card with four of the top eight in action. The other fights didn’t produce result that would change the welter standings. For her first Upton’s defense of her title, there’s Righetti. There is always Righetti, who up to this point has pretty much owned the division. Will she get the next title shot? I think the two have fought six times with each winning three. The division is getting boring. Not the fights aren’t good, They are, but it the same old group most of the time . Why don’t Upton go for a member of the cannon fodder in her first defense of the current title. How about Kylie Jenner, who was a nobody until she took the JMDD title by pounding Kate into oblivion a couple months ago
In the lightweights, Palicki won her first defense in CBAD contest. Kendall Jenner is an obvious choice after her win over DiDonato. There is no shortage of possible choice’s for Palicki to choose from. I would say any of the top sixteen would be suitable
Naomi Scott is the new title holder. She is in the same position as. Palicki in that there are numerous logical choices for her first defense. Kira Kosarin certainly made a case for being the first choice with her win over Scodelario. Elizabeth Olsen also made a strong bid with her win over Dobrev
Olivia Holt now reigns in the flyweights. She has the widest choice of deserving opponents of any of the current champions. The division is loaded. I would say any of the top twenty would be suitable including the Consortiums pair of Michelle Willians and Natalie Portman
In this PPV, there was one fight designated as Cougar. Does anyone find that strange? I’ll address that issue In another post
