"It wasn't easy to get to see you, Ms. Turner." Skip Tracey said as he approached the newest member of Foxfire Boxing.
"It wasn't Sophie's idea," Foxfire's Communications Director Beth Harnois said quickly. "Jen Garner wanted Sophie to get settled before she started do interviews."
"And I assure you," Sophie said, "I am now feeling very much at home here."
Sophie had just finished some laps around the gym under the watchful eye of Rachel Nichols, the just retired lightweight and Foxfire's new Assistant Trainer for Lightweights and Welters. She was wearing gray gym shirts and a shirt bearing the FOXFIRE BOXING logo.
"Is it a lot different from Gemini Boxing?" Skip asked taking out his trusty notebook.
"The basics are the same, but I can see now that every trainer brings their own angle. I think I will benefit from gaining fresh ways of approaching my boxing.: Sophia said.
"Of course, what we really want is those approaches helping her wins a lot of fights for us," Rachel Nichols said joining the little group. "This is new for me, too, but training is something I've wanted to do and I decided that time was right. I like to think Sophie and I will be learning together."
"Have you had the chance to talk to Mary Elizabeth Winstead?" Skip asked. "or any of the other Foxfire lightweights?"
"Oh yes, Mary was very nice. so were Claire Sinclair and Candice Swanepoel," Sophie said. "Suddenly I am the new 'kid sister'. That is very sweet, but I want to prove I can fight and I can win, I realize I've got a long way to go, but I feel I can succeed with all the help I am getting here."
"I have noticed that you have been mainy been fighting bantams like Jessica Alba, Troian Bellisario, and Emily VanCamp, is that going to continue?" Skip asked,
"Usually girls who are 5'9 like me are lightweights, I did fight and win against Shelley Hennig who is a lightweight. I expect I will fight more and more often at light," Sophia said with a look at Beth and Rachel.
Beth and Rachel exchanged looks and Beth said: "No comment. We're working on Sophies basics now."
"Speaking of which, it is time for a sparring session--with me," Rachel Nichols said.
"Glad to meet you, Ms. Turner," Skip said.
"Ohl you canm call me Sophie next time, Pleased to meet you," Sophie called out as she was led away by Rachel Nichols.
"All right, time to be going,: Beth said. "Just remember you got to interview her first."
Skip just nodded politely. He was already considering who the young lighhtweight might face next. There were possibilities from Anne Hathaway to Hailee Steinfeld to names he had not even thought of yet. 2017 was already a most interesting year.
