TESS VALMORE
In the opening bout, two non-roster fighters, Palvin and Ellingson, hoped to win to encourage some manager to take an interest and sign her.. It was a good fight with Palvin breaking a ten fight losing streak. Her record now, while not sensational, is 11-15 enough to encourage a manager to sign her. Will that happen, I don’t know, but probably too soon to tell. She needs another couple wins in a row. As far as Ellingson. This fight seems to be the end of the line for the 36 year old. I would say her chances of getting into a stable are now nil and as far as her future in the FCBA is concerned, she has none.
Before the fight, DiDonato was ranked at four in the lightweights and Huntington-Whiteley at eight. Huntington-Whiteley won the fight by a TKO7. I would call it a minor upset. Nothing close to a big upset or upset of the year. After all, how much difference is there between two fighters ranked four spots apart. The big question was asked after the fight. How will this affect DiDonato going into her fight with Kendall Jenner in twelve days? Jenner just lost to Upton two days ago, so both are going into their fight on a loss. I predicted DiDonato would win the upcoming fight with Jenner. I see no reason to change my prediction
Speaking of Upton, her night did not go well. Maybe, two fights in three days is a little much for her. The fact that she lost by a KO is not remarkable. She lost to a top ten lightweight. The aftermath of the fight was a disgrace and certainly didn’t reflect well on Swift or her stable. I do have to ask, during Upton getting stomped, where were her stablemates?, Where were her cornermen? They just let her get humiliated. Is she that unpopular in Lookout?
