TESS VALMORE
The January PPV featured 46 bouts. All four titles were up for grabs with the Queen of the Ice Hotel and JMDD titles also on the line. It was a rare incident when all four titles were at risk in three fights. The fight of the night was the “Fight of Champions” a fight between the lightweight champion Taylor Hill and the welter champ, Adrianne Palicki. Palicki how holds both the lightweight and welter titles. It looks like she will be defending one title one month and the other the next month. Lily Collins retained her flyweight title and Bella Thorne remains the bantam champ.
Four of the top eight welters were in action and all won which was no surprise. Any of the top eight ,except Lawrence, could get a title shot although Palicki could drop down to the cannon fodder since she is defending two titles and taking on a top contender every month is a tough go, Kendall Jenner or Emily DiDonato could get the first shot since they both beat Adrianne two years ago. Courtney Tailor probably took Taylor Swift out of the picture. She also could get a shot as she fought Palicki to a draw last year.
Bella Thorne has been dominate in the bantams. She has beaten most of the legitimate contenders in the last year. Of the bantam names, Emily Ratajkowski hasn’t fought Bella since September 2018 and Emily beat Scodelario which should make the number one bantam for a title shot
Among the flyweights Lily Collins has beaten a number of top flyweights in the last year. Two who both beat her and could get a revenge title match are Olivia Holt and Ana de Armas
I don’t keep up with who is In which stable. Of course, I do know which stable some fighters are. In that respect I can say it was a bad night for Front Street since the lost the lightweight title when Taylor Hill lost and my BFF lost to that brutal Camila Mendes. I know Cassie wants another shot at Mendes
It was also a bad night for the Consortium with Portman, Michelle Williams and Chopra all losing. Only Naomi Scott saved the night from a complete disaster The two big members are getting old. Both Portman and Williams are in their forties or will be this year. Chopra is a decent fighter and that is about all you can say about her. I don’t think she is up to the usual Consortium standards
