TESS VALMORE
Emma Watson defeated Adelaide Kane It was no surprise as Kane had won only 19% or her fights. The win gave Watson another W on her record to make it more impressive, but it will do nothing to help her in the rankings.
The same can be said for Agdal’s win over Morrrone. It was Morrone’s debut in the FCBA. Debuting fighters seldom win against experienced opponents especially one in the top twenty. Agdal was ranked at nineteen in the lightweights. This fight really didn’t help her ranking wise
Beckinsale’s choice of Silverstone, who had an 0-2 record and hadn’t fought in 21 years, smacked of desperation. It was her 100th fight and she is still two wins short of getting into the Hall Of Fame. She will now need to win her next five fights to get into the Hall. Will she finish the five bout schedule with Jenny Mac or will she go bottom feeding?
The Gadot/Biel bout was an interesting choice. Gadot got off to a poor start in the FCBA losing eight of her first ten. Much more was expected of her. Biel had retired in 2019. That retirement lasted nine months. Her winning record with the loss to Gadot dropped below the 60% Hall threshold, but once in, you're in. That seems to be a problem with Hall Of Fame fighters. They don’t know when to hang the gloves up. Miss Ginny once proposed the fighters not be admitted to the Hall until they have retired. The Wiz ,then apparently correctly, commented no one retires, they just stop getting calls. Biel got a call and couldn’t resist. Gadot’s win was not unexpected
Elizabeth Gillies pulled off a huge upset in the five round KO of Alexis Ren. Ren was ranked at three in the lightweights by both Boxing World and Tractorpull. Gillies had won only seven her of sixteen bouts. This was the first big upset of the new year and possibly could end up as the upset of the year
