First of all, a huge thanks to every single individual who takes time to write for the Female Celebrity Boxing Association (FCBA) on any level and certainly additional kudos to those who contribute monthly, going above and beyond. The FCBA could not succeed without people willing to write the creative stories, rivalries and promotional material that makes this such a vibrant, exciting place to participate in. Those who write monthly kept not just us coming back, but other fans and managers too.
Second of all, we want to also express a huge thanks to those who help maintain the FCBA Wiki, which is a herculean task and an invaluable resource. This is something we use all the time and can't imagine the FCBA without it. To show our appreciation we want to make sure it's easy as possible for them to transfer matches from the FCBA site to the wiki, which can already be time-consuming as is.
Below is a possible template, which should not be considered prescriptive or required, but just a possible template for people to consider what information would be beneficial to include in the match. Overall, there are just a few pieces of information that need to be included, which are:
A) The names of the fighters.
B) The name of the writer. It should not have to be a mystery to whoever is posting the match to the Wiki who is the writer. Most writers have a fairly distinctive writing style, so it's not a complicated mystery, but it's more work for those maintaining the Wiki.
C) Who provided results, which will be me. This lets whoever is maintaining the Wiki, which is more than just copying the match, but also updating the records in a number of areas, know that the match is official.
D) Pre-fight
E) Fight Report, round by round.
F) Post-fight.
Those items above are required.
Those items above are required.
However, if you want to include things like photos, the fight records and such, those are up to the writer's preference. Those can add to the fight and are welcome, but not required. Other items that make the match feel more real and exciting are always appreciated.
But, as an example, here is one potential template to see how the match could be laid out, as well as other helpful notes at the bottom.
Fight Template
<Fighter #1> vs <Fighter #2>
(Name of Writer / Results: Lookout!)
<Name of Fighter #1>
<Record of Fighter #1>
<image link of Fighter #1>
<Name of Fighter #2>
<Record of Fighter #2>
<image link of Fighter #2>
Pre-Fight:
Fight (Scored by Rounds):
<Official Result Line> - this doesn’t have to follow a template, but might be good to highlight this in some way so the we can see the result at a quick glance.
Post-Fight:
Other Notes:
-Ensure images (if any) are hosted on a site like imgur. Sending photos as an attachment to our e-mail does not allow me to link them to the match. If you have a question on whether the site will be maintain the photo for you to link to, then you can feel free to utilize an image from the Wiki to link to as an alternative. Many of our writers have had success with Imgur for hosting and Bing Image Search for locating good fight reference. If you want a particular image for your fighter in the Wiki, then let us know and we can work on getting your fighter's photo updated.
-Try your best to ensure proper formatting of the fight report, such as:
line breaks after each paragraph
not too many spaces between paragraphs
words you wanted Bolded / italicized are as such
line breaks after each paragraph

Again, this is just to help out the readers, the managers and those maintaining the Wiki. This was done in the spirit of making things easier, with input from those who work on the Wiki, but each writer and manager has their own distinctive style. Please continue writing however you feel comfortable in doing so, because without you, the FCBA cannot be successful. If anybody else has additional suggestions or thoughts to improve this template, then free to let us know on this thread or via e-mail. Of course, every new manager gets a writing tutorial to help provide guidance for these stories because this is all so crucial. With your stories, you not only bring in additional fans and other managers, which is how the FCBA has made it for over 20 years and let's hope for many more. Thanks again and I'll look forward to working with all of you to keep the FCBA going strong!
