After the success of the prior iteration of this event, Fates has decided to hold another edition of Taylor Swift’s Birthday Bash. After an exhilarating event last year that saw Emily DiDonato even up her score against Adriana Lima, Elizabeth Olsen getting back at Ginny by taking down Margot Robbie, and Taylor Swift knocking out Kate Upton in a ten round thriller, we know that it will be hard to top last year’s event, but we will do our best. But if we have to say so ourselves, we think we might have a card that could do just that.
The participants in this year’s event have a combined record of 389 wins to 229 losses and 3 ties, a win ratio of 63%. The fighters combine for 11 divisional titles, one reign as Queen of the Ice Hotel, and not one but two Hall of Fame inductees. Eight of the fighters are currently ranked in the top ten in their divisions, with the remaining four being in the top twenty of their divisions. We have stories of revenge, the old guard trying to preserve their place while the new generation tries to take the torch, a battle for Avengers supremacy that will see stablemates fighting each other, and will end it with a rivalry that has been personal and seen the fighters not only try to win, but destroy and humiliate the other girl.
Without further ado, we are proud to announce the following fights that will take place on December 13!
Lookout and Fates continue their feud as Fates’ Emily DiDonato meets Hall of Famer Missy Peregrym of Lookout Boxing. DiDonato is 1-1 against Lookout girls this year, dropping Kate Upton in body paint while losing to Yvonne Strahovski, both on the beach. The eighth ranked lightweight in DiDonato will take on the sixteenth ranked Peregrym inside the ring for the first time to lead off the event. Will Peregrym give DiDonato a losing record against Lookout fighters for the year? Or will the Goshen Goddess prove that she has no issue taking down Hall of Famers?
The second fight is all about inflicting pain as thirteenth ranked Behati Prinsloo looks for revenge against her former stable as she squares off against the woman who replaced her in the eighth ranked welter Karen Gillan. After sticking it to Fates at the Fates on the Beach PPV by defeating Ana Beatriz Barros, can Prinsloo prove that Fates made the wrong choice and take down Gillan? Or will Karen show that she is an upgrade from Behati?
Following the welterweight action, Blake Lively of Chimera looks to avenge her loss to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in the summer when the British model took down the American actress of the Fourth of July. Combine that with Lively losing to Emily DiDonato and Taylor Swift and you’ve got all the more reason to believe the former champ is going to want to beat a Fates girl for the first time. And to raise the stakes, it will be a lingerie match. Can the twentieth ranked lightweight in Blake finally get a win against a Fates girl after losing to Emily last year and getting humiliated by Taylor in the Ice Hotel? Can she do it against a model familiar with lingerie? Or will the thirteenth ranked Rosie show that she is just a late bloomer and a blonde force to be reckoned with and continue Fates’ record of sticking it to Ginny?
The fourth match sees a clash between the seventh and sixth ranked flyweights as the second Hall of Famer on the card in Hayden Panettiere steps into the ring with rising starlet Katherine McNamara in flyweight action. Can the up and coming McNamara defeat one of the FCBA’s best? Or will Hayden Panettiere prove that while she is a Hall of Famer, her time is far from over and that she still is a dominant fighter and that the flyweight division is still hers to run? Regardless of who wins this fight, the victor could easily find herself in line for a title shot, making it all the more important to come out with a victory.
The second to last fight of the night takes us to bantamweight action as the fourth and fifth ranked bantamweights enter the ring with each other for the first time. In a battle for Avenger supremacy and battle for top bantamweight of Fates, Elizabeth Olsen takes on Brie Larson as both girls will try to prove to Fates who the superior bantamweight of the stable is. The only other time two current Fates girls fought each other was when Emily DiDonato dethroned Taylor Swift and ended her lightweight title reign – will Olsen continue the brunette tradition of winning, or will Larson bring the blondes back to even and prove that just because she had a worse year than Olsen, that doesn’t mean she’s the worse fighter?
And that brings us to the main event between the first and sixth ranked lightweights. Kendall Jenner of Girls Friday will square off with Fates’ Taylor Swift and hope to do what Kate Upton couldn’t last year and ruin Swift’s birthday bash by taking down the singer. Kendall and Taylor have fought five times before, with Jenner winning the first three by KO9, KO8, and KO8, not to mention two humiliating post-match instances, while Swift won the fourth and fifth matches by KO8. Jenner will look to stop Swift from winning three straight against her and evening the history up at three fights apiece, and in the process, effectively defeat Taylor in a best of seven series. Can Taylor Swift win three matches against Kendall Jenner in 2020 alone and bring the series score to three apiece, setting up a tie-breaking seventh fight? Or will Kendall Jenner ruin Taylor Swift’s birthday and take the best of seven series at Swift’s event?
Get your tickets now, as they won’t last long with a card like this, and we will see you there on December 13!
