2020 VIX/PLP STABLE WAR

7. Melissa Benoist vs Alexis Ren
Melissa:

Alexis:
(22, 5’8, 32:9 FCBA, VIXENs)
BEFORE:
"F*ck Supergirl. She may play a superhero on television but her ring performance paints a different picture," Alexis says first, a smug look on her face from the podium. "Our stables are locked dead even, but make no mistake - I'm gonna win this fight for me, and me alone. So Supergirl had better watch out in there tonight, because I’m about to kick her ass!"
Melissa looks confident throughout the press junket, arms folded across her chest as she responds from her side of the table:
"They tried to warn me about Ren's mouth, how big it was and all. Now that I've heard it for myself, I'm ready to shut this little girl up," Benoit says, smiling as she watches Ren squirm in her seat. "She's won some impressive fights but she can't compete with a real woman. This little girl had better watch out because I’m about to lay the smackdown on her."
Ladies come nose-to-nose and Ren is still a ball of energy, sticking her tongue out and trying to get a reaction out of Benoit. But Melissa stoic and steady, hands on hips in a practised Supergirl pose, saving her fast moves for later.
In the ring, Benoit is down the ramp first, bouncing on her feet as she smiles in a red bikini top and black boxing shorts. Alexis next through the curtains, that irritating smile still etched on her face as she struts to the ring in a baby blue bikini top and bottom. Referee doesn’t waste time with much preamble, knows the fans are eager to see which side comes out on top in this stable war. HERE we go with ten rounds of Lightweight action!
ROUND 1:
Melissa scores with some early hits, succeeding in her mission to shove her fists into the Vixen’s lips. Ren not grinning any longer, each successive jab to the face like a nasty reminder that she ain’t the best of the best. She’s left scowling at Benoist after the third jab hits her clean on the lips, then starts to lay it on thick with jabs of her own trying to score back on the blonde. Melissa grunts as she takes some hits to the face in turn, both blondes taking damage in the middle of the ring before the time finally runs out. Benoist with an early victory, but not by much. True victory is seeing Ren steaming and throwing a tantrum back in her corner.
ROUND 2:
Ren fighting back in form, moving and hitting left right front and back, then rocks Supergirl’s head backwards with a series of jabs. Both girls are fast and lean, but Ren a little more experienced as she blocks more incoming punches and then slams a hard shot into Melissa’s side, almost stunning her to the spot. Benoist backs off, a grimace on her face with her dukes still up, BLASTS Ren across the face for her overeagerness and spite. Ren looks shocked as lightning but keeps up the pressure, manages to shove another left right into Melissa’s lips as both girls reset at opposite corners of the ring, both huffing and winded this early in the fight.
ROUND 3:
Melissa shows off her expert form, stuns Ren with some early jabs before enjoying the grunts from the Vixen’s lips instead of any more smart-ass words. Ren’s hair sent flying, arms rocked by another right hook to the side, before she’s folded over by a straight cross to her tummy. Benoist capitalising, chasing after the lanky Vixen with more jabs. Not doing as much damage however as Ren falls on her instincts, evading the attacks and maintaining distance, silently cursing her fortunes as she reevaluates her strategy. Melissa torques another hook into the blonde’s arms that sends Ren reeling. Alexis regains focus, locking arms as she jabs back and catches Benoit on the nose, then a hook across the chest. That smirk is back on the blonde’s lips as she manages to stave off disaster.
ROUND 4:
Melissa drives herself forward, now really turning up the pressure. And Ren wilts bit by bit, not used to someone pressuring her so badly. Another one-two combo to the face hurts her even more, as Ren stumbles back and sees stars. Melissa bounds forward, eager to put the cocky girl down, another right hand drilled to the belly has Ren bunched over with a groan. Benoist still moving like lightning, another left-right drilled into the arms has Ren trapped on the ropes until the bell. Ren left gasping, arms falling to her sides at her shellshocked poor performance this round.
ROUND 5:
Talk about a poor performance: Ren’s downfall continues, losing another early exchange when both women bound forward and exchange punches to the face. Dull smack of leather on cheek and body as they both step forward, smack a fist into the chin, then another to the body, which has them folded over in each other’s arms. But Benoist lifts the chin once, twice with a snap uppercut, sending Ren’s head into orbit as the Vixen chokes and gasps, then goes flying off her feet as her side hits the canvas!! KNOCKDOWN for Melissa Benoist as the Supergirl actress roars in victory, stepping over Ren on her way back to her corner. Alexis slowly turns over her back, back on all fours, pushing herself off her arms and knees before she makes it back up by the count of 8. Things are not over yet!
ROUND 6:
Another mad blitz by Benoist, but this time, the wind is taken out of her sails after already getting winded by her prior aggression. She chases after Ren but doesn’t score as many punches as before. Instead, Ren is still moving quick, dashing out of Supergirl’s way or blocking her attacks with her guard, far from being on her last legs as she tries to survive this round. Sudden right hand SLAMS through the arms as Ren scores a mighty blow on the nostrils, making Benoist gasp out loud as she staggers backwards. AND HERE COMES REN, that unfortunate knockdown all gone from memory as the blonde spitfire seizes her revenge! Wild swinging of fists as Ren doesn’t care about taking punishment, only dishing out! She shoves that right hand in over and over, bashing Melissa on the forehead, lips and tummy - any target is game, leaving Benoit bent over on the ropes by the time the bell rings.
ROUND 7:
Melissa still looks shocked when the bell rings to start the seven, winded badly from their last encounter and now has to dig deep if she wants to win this. Ren on the other hand gnashing her teeth, bounding forward like she’s still on a revenge mission, SOCKS the other blonde with a right hand straight to the nose, then another and another drives Benoist back into the ropes. Benoist manages to stave off a knockout hook with a low duck and clinch forward, and the two women spend a minute rotating along the ropes while pounding fists off the body. Ren pays the other girl back with a fist dug into the put of tummy, bowling Melissa over, then ROCKS her with an uppercut to the chin, sending Benoist DOWN TO CANVAS even faster than last time! UGGHH!! Benoist collapses down to her side, eyelids fluttering as she’s completely laid out by the ropes! Roar of victory from Ren as she parades back to corner, with Benoist not moving save for her arms sunk over her head as the referee counts her out to 10!! It’s all over!
Official Decision: Alexis Ren defeats Melissa Benoit via KO7!
AFTER:
Ren takes the win, and with that, the rest of her stable over the finish line! She’s still spouting insults down at the fallen Benoist, circling her like fallen prey, her rock music filling the rest of the stadium.
Benoist immediately gets covered by the ring official, then the rest of her stablemates pull her to the safety of her corner, leaving a scowling Ren still pacing about unsatisfied, looking for an opening to rush her for a post-match beatdown. Ren makes several false starts towards the PLP corner, but gets held back by her own stablemates as everyone is weary of more drama after seven grueling matches at the conclusion of this drawn out war.
