Results: Lookout!; Story: Vassago
BEFORE: Former Queen of the Ice Hotel Odette Yustman is send to take revenge on Eiza Gonzalez who secured her second career victory over another Ice Hotel hopeful - and fellow Lioness - Lily Aldridge on the March Madness PPV. And that was a brutal beating the Mexican chick delivered last month!
Odette dismisses the idea she's basically doing a clean-up duty and believes she remains a valid elite starter in the lightweight division but Eiza brags about being a "Lioness huntress" and vows to take another California brunette down in less than six rounds! Given the way she destroyed Aldridge, one can't blame her for this arrogant approach whatsoever!
Odette Yustman wears a light blue bikini set & black gloves. Black hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Eiza Gonzalez wears a red bikini set with green trim & white gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a curled ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.
Eiza picks up right where she left off vs Aldridge and bashes another Lioness brunette straight up the middle; she secures a clean connection with the chin and outworks Odette in close range while snapping her head back & forth in the process! Huh! Even Odette's elite footwork can't bail her out of the Mexican buzzsaw and Eiza really means it as she tries to knock the fellow brunette's head off and backs her into the turnbuckle where she scythes across her boobs to force a groan out of Yustman's throat! This reaction only fuels more aggression and Odette disappears behind a desperate earmuff as Eiza's power assault is only halted by the bell... LCA coach Claudia Schiffer needs to rally around this shocker in order to avoid another Mexican disaster for the proud franchise!
Odette's too experienced to allow Eiza Gonzalez to bully her around like that; she engages a mid-distance footwork craze which lures the Mexican into a trigger-happy assault during the opening minute. It's no different to Eiza's attitude from the opening round but she can't quite find her range anymore and has the California brunette dancing around her and responding with single-punch counter effort. This frustrates Eiza a lot and she goes vocal on her opponent alas Yustman sticks to her "wait & see" tactics and clinches the Mexican late to neutralize the swarming danger. It's not exactly a crowd-pleasing performance but Odette seemingly knows better how to frustrate a cocky operator like Eiza!
Eiza keeps coming at the American in that classic slugging fashion but gets picked off in response and Odette settles into a very familiar counter-punching effort that begins to reap the reward when she nails the Mexican on the nose a couple of times followed by a crushing uppercut on the jaw. Eiza trembles to the side and for the first time she has to think better off it alas Yustman doesn't clobber her outright and remains committed to the methodical cherry picking from afar. She waits for Gonzalez to blow the gasket again and when the ineviteable happens, she cleans her out with elite precision to the point Eiza yelps in frustration more than physical discomfort down the stretch.
Eiza just can't lure Odette into a slugging exchange and relies too much on her bad attitude that worked so well vs Lily Aldridge twice that she takes her eye off the ball and gets swamped by a counter-punching prowess that has Yustman landing one hook on each temple after another. Eiza grazes off the mitts & shoulder and when she leaps to enforce a phone booth stance, Odette either dances away from her or applies a clinch to neutralize all that slugging danger. She also enjoys some help from the ref as Eiza pleads for some warnings only to be rebuked by the lenient handling of this bout. Odette rips a hook on the liver area come the third minute and it hurts Eiza more than it should have so she backpedals away and requires a plan 'B' from coach Kelly Carlson sooner rather than later.
That plan 'B' turns out to be a "hit it even harder" advice and allthough Odette soaks up the initial double drive she drops low to punish the liver area again which stalls the Mexican armada in her tracks. Eiza has to work it out from the scratch which affects the production too much to hurt the agile American on the long run. Back & forth we go in the center of the ring but Odette controls the narrative and matches the fellow brunette punch-for-punch before she finally gets caught out by a vicious hook on the lips that allows Gonzalez to back her into the ropes come the final stretch. It's too late for Eiza to make the most of that opportunity but she steals the round late ripping into Yustman's midriff in high-volume effort!
Eiza flies out of the box fast and tries to land another head-hunting combo only to gets busted on the nose with a cracking overhand as Odette suddenly goes up-tempo and snaps the Mexican's head back in a rare injection of fury! How about that slugging ace in the pack? Eiza barks the louder of the two as she fancies her chances in this exchange but fails to react when Yustman rips a left hook on the liver that drops her into spasms and allows the Lioness brunette to WHACK her on the chin a split second later... Gonzalez gets whipped on her heels and fights to keep her balance until Odette SMOKES her with a left hook on the jaw that folds her like a jack-knife... DOWN GOES EIZA!!! Uh-oh!!! She cries out and buries her face behind the mitts while coach Carlson fears there's some structural damage involved! But it's not over... until it's over! Eiza tries to get up... and wobbles onto her butt as gravity takes over! And the ref waves it off!!! KO6 Odette Yustman!!!
AFTER: Shocking result for the Odds & Ends as both Eiza & coach Carlson don't understand why this fight is over! Odette is anything but a power-hitter yet she was allowed to deliver a vicious series that send the "Lioness huntress" down for the count! Eiza goes all Spanish excuses in a heated conversation with the ref but even Tess Valmore agrees she was rattled enough for Odette to clean her out if the ref granted her another chance. You don't need the full eight count to realize that a girl is done here!
Meanwhile Odette ignores all that Mexican noise in the O&E corner and exchanges high-fives with coach Schiffer instead. She blows a kiss to the camera and says "some girls just can't buy class" before waving back to her fans in the audience. Revenge mission has been accomplished and that's the only thing that really matters for the Lioness entourage tonight!
Official Result: Odette Yustman def. Eiza Gonzalez KO6.
