2. Melissa Satta vs Pia Miller (Lightweight)
Melissa:
(31, 5’9, FCBA Debut, SIRENs)

Pia:
(34, 5’9, 0:1 FCBA, SIRENs)

BEFORE:
“Hmprhh. These chicas should be fighting us, on OUR turf. Not theirs,” Pia saying with a stern expression in front of reporters. “Satta and I are stablemates, yes, but we agreed to fight tonight to show these Vixens we ain't scared to hurt each other. If we can knock each out, think about what we can do to them in the future?”
Pia Miller looking fit and in shape here, dressed in a white bikini and a red rose pinned into the middle of her hair. She hasn't had the best of luck this year, certainly, but that’s partly cos she’s been taking time off to focus on her acting career and family. Hopefully though, her opponent tonight will go semi-easy on her, stablemate or not.
Satta also looking like a million dollars and she walks out from behind the curtains at the sound of her music. With a sexy strut, the Italian poses in a blue/green bikini top and matching boxing shorts, complete with a pair of white gloves.
“Pia’s had a rough start this year, but make no mistake, I’m NOT going to go easy on her either just because of that. In fact, I hope Petra or whoever else in the division is watching this fight, because it’s gonna determine who’s next in line for the title!” Satta says confidently by ringside.
Other than that, this second showcase event holds no surprises as we get this fight started in the ring! Girls touch gloves (for once) at the urging of the referee, and HERE we go with ten rounds of Lightweight action!
ROUND 1:
Pia surprisingly aggressive early on, stamping forward and forcing the engagement with Melissa. Melissa looks slightly surprised when she’s forced to defend her face from a sudden flurry of punches, particularly from a fellow stablemate she’s previously considered dead weight behind closed doors. Miller determined to prove otherwise, however, keeping up the aggressive tactics and pushing Satta across the ring, back and forth. Not looking too good for the Italian all until the third minute, where she fires right back, treating Pia to a couple of knuckle sandwiches of her own that slam into the lips and nostrils, and the two girls rest and reset at opposite ends as the rest of the action dies down. Pia taking it by a small margin, we feel - those jabs of hers pestering Satta throughout, but to be honest not many of them actually landing hard enough to matter. Still, she’s put Melissa on notice here from the get go, and Satta has to be wary as the second round begins.
ROUND 2:
HERE we go with the second, and this time, Melissa charges first! She’s showing plenty of spunk in her own right, being the one who surprises Miller this time by sending a quick one-two-three combination into her guard before a fist shoved forward into her tummy, driving her back towards her own corner from the onslaught. Satta leaner and some say meaner, dodging Pia’s return hands and swings quite expertly, that smirk on her face materialising as she realises she’s back in control. Pia learning her lesson, of course, now staying fully away behind her own battlelines, her guard up and only jabbing at her opponent’s head if Melissa decides to get in close a second time. Third minute and girls bare fists but barely punching, with even Satta getting drained from her early exertion. By our estimates, however, the wannabe-champion took this second round for herself.
ROUND 3:
Make no mistake - girls staying apart in the third round, but boy are they eager to jump back in and hurt the other. Pia doing the honours with big swings that rattle off Satta’s guard. Deep down, the Chilean knows that this might be the only way she’s gonna win this pairing: by being aggressive and hounding the other woman into submission. The problem is that Satta known to be faster and more agile, and it’s still too early to expect her to get caught by those devastating hands that Pia’s swinging at her head. Some hooks do land off her sides later in the round, with a couple of straight hands puncturing the body and making Satta gasp and retreat, but it’s not enough to put her down for the count Satta beginning to show frustration on her own face as she gets manhandled by a lesser woman, or so she thinks. Last minute sees her rally, with a brazen charge inwards and poking jabs at Satta’s face, but gets her own head SWIVELLED to the side when she leaves it open to a hook from Pia! UGHH! She *finally* gets what she deserves, but truth be told, that statement can be applied to both women!
ROUND 4:
Melissa suddenly in trouble as she took the in-between time to reset and rest. She’s having trouble dealing with Pia’s power here - that same sort of situation she found herself in when she faced off against Petra Nemcova. It seems that the Italian hasn’t really found her answer yet to an opoonent’s superior power, and whilst getting smacked in the guard repeatedly is sure to build character, her corner’s shouting at her back to fight more smartly and avoid Pia’s powerful hooks, for goodness sakes’. She listens, just in time, keeping her distance for the remainder of the round and frustrating Pia’s efforts to secure that coveted knockdown this time round. Pia quickly losing steam thereafter towards the third minute, and its excellent strategy here employed by one woman’s corner, with Satta beginning to exert frequent jabs that hound Miller backwards. Round teeters off with a small advantage to Satta from that late rally. Could this be a turning point for her?
ROUND 5:
Not quite so fast, Pia seems to say, stampeding forward and barreling once more into the fray once the bell rings for the fifth to begin. She’s clearly been working on her stamina as she resumes punching at Satta’s head and body as though she didn’t even need a break. But her chest heaving, and the sweat pouring off her veins undeniable as the first minute concludes and Satta STILL refuses to be baited into an all-out confrontation. Melissa using those slender legs of hers to dictate the pace and space of the action, refusing to get herself caught on the ropes and only occasionally flicking a jab back into Pia’s face. It seems to do the trick - Pia hanging onto the ropes for support after another ill-conceived charge leaves her without purchase. Satta bouncing on her toes a few feet away, goading her to try again. Can’t fault the Chilean for trying, however, since she did score a couple of lucky shots off the chin and tummy earlier. Even though she may have scored the points this round, we can’t help but feel that Melissa’s gonna walk away as the winner.
ROUND 6:
HERE COMES SATTA as predicted, rushing in like the wind filling a void left behind by Pia’s over-exertion. Miller just too tired to think about standing and brawling at this point. She’s doing her best to deflect the rapid jabs that Satta’s shooting at her head and body, but can’t keep it up forever, grunting as each errant punch sails in and scores on skin. Hell - it’s a miracle she’s even survived the first minute, we feel. Satta picking things up another gear, remarkably, now mixing in powerful hooks of her own that slam hard into the forearms, finally SHOVING that right hand straight into Pia’s face from the side, and DOWN SHE GOES! The Chilean simply FLOORED by that hook that leaves her gasping and sputtering down at Satta’s feet! Referee counting her out but Miller barely has enough strength to push her chest off the ground. He hits the 10-count and it’s all over!!
Official Decision: Melissa Satta defeats Pia Miller via KO6!
AFTER:
Definitely not a happy place to find herself in tonight, with a consecutive loss now on Pia’s CV. It’s such a shame, really - the Chilean girl certainly has the looks and charisma to back it up in front of a crowd, but perhaps she needs to find the right opponent whom she can take advantage of, using her power. Melissa Satta, unfortunately, wasn’t one of them.
Satta celebrating with both hands in the air, a smile of relief on her face quickly turning to concern as she kneels down by her stablemate’s side to check on her. All’s well that ends well, we suppose, with the medics soon joining them and making sure Pia will live to fight another day. For tonight though, the Sirens put on a textbook example of one hell of a fight!
