Before: The pre-fight between these two is actually quite polite and friendly. “I have been a great admirer of Jessica Biel, It’s an honor to be fighting her,” Sophie Turner says.
“Sophie has a lot of potential,” says the veteran Jessica. “Foxfire made a good move letting hr face me, She’ll learn a lot from losing to me.”
“Hmm,” Sophie said, “I imagine I would learn even more beating you.”
Jessica gives her a cold look. Sophie acts like she didn’t see it. Instead she chatters on about: “How much fun it will be to dress up in a ‘Santa-Kini’ it sounds like amusing fun.”
“You know, considering how long I’ve been in the FCBA, its surprising that this will be my first Santa-Kini. I guess it shows it’s never too late to try something different around here. I am definitely looking forward to it.”
On fight night Sophia appears in a white satin bikini trimmed in red faux fur with red gloves and boots (white laces), her auburn hair is in a ponytail. Jessica Biel has opted for a green satin bikini with a white faux fur trim, she has white boots and gloves with red laces. Her hair is ion a simple ponytail as well.
Sophie is smiling excitedly and looking very happy to be here. Jessica is calm, but smiles and waves to her fans on the way to the ring. Ring instructions proceed smoothly and professionally. Glovces are tapped and the fighters are quickly back in their corners. The bell rings….
R1: Fight opens with wary circling at mid-ring. Punches shooting out quickly to test defenses, then more movement and more probing shots. Sophia seems to be wary of that powerful Biel right hand and Jessica finds it useful as a feint to set Sophia up for quick lefts to the body. Then Sophia sees something, she ducks down and pops up with a blindly fast left hook that cracks Jessica hard to the chin. Jessica staggered and then Sophia deploys her right to come crunching in to Jessica’s jaw. Jessica looks shaken and tries to pull back. Sophia launches a flurry of locks to the taut Biel midsection. Jessica a bit slow getting her jab going and this allows Sophie to work over Jessica’s body until the defensive jabs force her back. Sophia looking quite good as circles the still woozy Jessica and fires in quick straight rights and lefts to keep the veteran under pressure. Jessica remains defensive to the bell and is able to thwart several late attempts by Sophie to get in close, but the round as a whole goes wide to Sophie Turner.
R2: Jessica with a serious look on her face moves out quickly at the bell and engages Sophia before the redhead can set up. Jessica brings that booming right into contact with Sophia’s jaw and then follows up with a strong left to the cheekbone. Sophia now the one stung and in retreat. Jessica pressing hard now, striking at the midsection most often, but firing in overhand shots to the head and face whenever she sees an opening. Sophia now bottled up on the defense though she does have a good jab that she uses to make Jessica wary with some got shots to the eyebrows and forehead, Sophie holding Jessica off, but it’s not enough to prevent the veteran from winning the round wide.
R3: Jessica on the prowl again this evening, She’s striking at Sophie and trying to keep the younger fighter from counterattacking. Sophie patient under the pressure, then sees her chance and strikes with a lightning right uppie to the chin. Jessica’s head is knocked back and she stumbles back. Sophie rushing in to try to get at Jessica’s head, but Jess has her jab going much quicker this time and lumps up Sophie’s face as she forces her back. Sophie right back at Jessica and they battle it out with short rights and lefts jerked into their straining bodies. Sophie feeling the pressure of that right hand in her belly, then up into her ribs and finally into the undersides of her breasts. She tries to stand her ground, but she is forced back slowly but surely as Jessica regains control by the bell. Still this was a much closer round, but Jessica Biel able to pull it out as the judges award her the stanza.
R4: Sophie seems to show better footwork this round as she evades or blunts Jessica’s biggest punches. At the same time, Sophie is showing greater accuracy in her punches and she is scoring more and more to Jessica’s head, Jessica not liking these shots decides to force the action up close and turn this into a body punching battle, Sophie takes up the challenge and there is an intense exchange of close-in body punches. Power stuff as both bodies shiver under the impacts, but Jessica steps to one side very quick and stuns Jessica with a quick shot to the side of the head. Jessica lurches away , but quickly recovers and manages to stall Sophie’s follow-up. Sophie then circles and punches as Jessica who fights back gamely to the bell. Another close round, but it goes to Sophie Turner.
R5: Jessica seems determined to show Sophie who is in charge of this fight. She boldly attacks to the body at the opening, Sophie finds herself struggling against strong shots to her stomach, ribs and breasts. Jessica then skillfully cuts off the ring on Sophie and herds her back to the ropes. Sophie fighting doggedly with the jab to keeps of the strands, but Jessica scores with a right hook to the belly that thrusts Sophie back into the ropes. Sophie clinching to escape, but she can’t quite manage it. Sophie finally pushed into the ropes and just covers up to ride it out. Sophie looks wobbly when the bell sounds and she is able to peel herself off the ropes. She keeps her head up, but the tremble in her legs and posterior is plain. Jessica allows herself a grim smile of satisfaction.
R6: Sophie Turner gets a lot of attention from Foxfire lightweight trainer Rachel Nichols and the corner crew, but she does not look good as she comes off her stool to begin the new round. The veteran Jessica Biel can see she’s got a hurting opponent, but circles warily at first as she tests Sophie’s defenses from a distance. Sophie’s reactions are sluggish and so Jessica ups the tempo, she moves in and starts spraying shots around Sophie’s head and body. Sophie tightens up on her defense, she’s mostly trying to evade Jessica’s TNT right hand and so she’s not doing a lot of countering. Jessica works the redhead’s body until she’s got Sophie all hunched up and aching, but Sophie is still blunting Jessica’s finisher. Jessica keeps trying to bring the right into play and end this, but Sophie is getting very good at keeping away from the full power of the intended blows. Jessica ends up sweeping the round on cards, but Sophie is still standing and appears to have survived a very vulnerable round.
R7: Jessica seems certain she can finish the stubborn rookie off, but now she runs into Sophie’s rebounding jab. The next thing the veteran knows she’s battling it out toe to toe with Sophie in another battle of the short-range body shots. Sophie is working Jessica’s ribcage with particular zeal as she can see Jessica wincing every time a punch strikes home. Sophie having to absorb heavy hooks to the belly and some nasty uppercuts to the breasts. Both fighters are looking each other in the eye as sweat trickles down their foreheads and neither willing to blink. Then Sophie catches Jessica by surprise by a sudden jerking right uppercut into the chin. Jessica knocked back on her heels and then Sophie flings an overhand left that catches Jessica squarely in the left eye. Then she brings another left into that same eye. Jessica falls back in distress though she keeps up a solid jab that prevents Sophie from doing any more damage. Jessica now putting some distance between herself and Sophie as that left eye is swelling up fast. Sophie maintains pressure to ensure that she wins the round by a close margin.
R8: Medallion corner crew working on that left eye. Medallion trainer Charisma Carpenter looking concerned, but Jessica insists she can continue. Charisma nods, but she doesn’t look happy. Action resumes and almost at once it becomes apparent that Jessica is in trouble because of that eye. A few probing punches tells Sophie that Jessica has a reduced vision thanks to the swelling around her eye and Sophie adjusts to keep striking out of that blind spot. She also adds to Jessica’s misery by striking at the eye obliging Jessica to concentrate on protecting the afflicted orb. Sophie is blocked by Jessica’s high guard as it protects her head and eye, but she now had free rein to pound Jessica’s ribcage. Jessica hunching up, but Sophie now works the side ribs and keeps Jessica on the defensive. Jessica hanging in grimly, but she’s not able to do much in the way of countering. Sophie circling around Jessica striking with growing power as Jessica is forced to take a storm of leather before the bell rings. Round results in a shutout win for Sophie Turner, Jessica Biel looking ashen-faced with that eye a painfully swollen sight as she slowly returns to her stool, but with her head stubbornly held high. Jessica may be badly banged up, but her pride is still there.
R9: Sharp dispute in the Medallion corner during the break. Charisma clearly thinking that the fight should not continue. Jessica grows angry, unwilling to quit on her stool, and Charisma reluctantly lets the veteran have her way. Jessica seems fired up by the exchange and comes off her stool ready to fight. Sophie approaching with caution, finds that Jessica now able to move well enough to reduce Sophie’s advantage with Jess’ blind spot. At the same time, Jessica aiming to knock Sophie’s head back with some driving rights and lefts over the redhead’s gloves into her face. Those power rights quickly leaving red and swollen marks all over Sophie’s face. Sophie dropping back, but then plunges back in striking at Jessica’s ribs with all the power she can muster. The rib roasting sends shock waves through Jessica’s body and her legs are shivering. Sophie now attacks again even as she’s getting jabbed hard to the face and chest and Jessica’s ribs must be white-hot with pain. Jessica falling back with an agonized look on her face. Sophie moving swiftly to the distracted Jessica’s blind side and brings a right crashing into her unguarded saw. Jessica’s head whipped around and then her whole body corkscrews into the canvas! Jessica lies in a huddled heap. Sophie goes to neutral corner as referee moves in. Jessica struggling to push herself upright, but her tormented body just won’t obey her brain;s commands. She makes it to all fours, but no further.
“NINE!...TEN!...YOU’RE OUT!”
THE WINNER: SOPHIE TURNER DEFEATS JESSICA BIEL
After: Rachel Nichols quick into the ring to hug her happy fighter. Sophie exhausted, her face is a bruised mess, but she is smiling as she talks briefly to the press in the ring.
“I am genuinely shocked. I never dreamed that I would actually beat Jessica Biel,” Sophie says. “She is such a tough fighter and that right of hers—I will have nightmares about it for a long time—but I hung in there. I am sure that left eye is what won me the fight. Plus I took the advice of my trainer Rachel and concentrated most my attacks on the ribs. This is a night I will not soon forget!”
Sophie then goes over to hug Jessica Biel and the two speak together quietly for a few moments. Then Jessica is escorted away by Charisma Carpenter. Jessica meets the press later with her ribs taped up and wearing dark glasses to cover what will likely be a Grade A black eye in the morning.
“It was a disappointing end to a disappointing year,” Jessica says. “I am a realist and the reality is that I didn’t a single win this year. You can say I lost to some top fighters: Strahovski, Lima, Kendall Jenner, and now Sophie Turner, but the reality is: I didn’t win. I blame no one but myself. I can tell you that I am determined that 2018 will be a much better year for me. I’ve got Charisma Carpenter and there is no better trainer out there. This year was a wake-up call. I can do better in 2018 and I will!”
Pretty frank words for Jessica Biel, but she’s never been known to go easy on herself. A 0-4 year is a discouraging one, but Jessica is certainly capable to turning things around in 2018. Her many fans hope this will be the case. Meanwhile, young Sophie Turner gets to savor a win over an FCBA Hall of Famer. Sophie will no doubt try to build on this success as she works her way up the Lightweight Division ladder. 2018 should be an especially hopeful year for Foxfire’s most promising young fighter.
