BEFORE: The pressure mounts on Nicole Scherzinger as her six fight losing streak threatens to send her down the jobber alley and several pundits begin to wonder whether the Hawaiian native still has what it takes to deliver a competitive performance in the FCBA universe. On the other hand Ashley Greene desperately tries to enter the divisional elite; despite over 30 fights under her belt she remains one of the most underrated and overlooked women in the 120 lbs category, something that rarely fits the Odds & Ends marketing value.
Nicole Scherzinger wears a red bikini set and yellow gloves. Raven-black hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Ashley Greene wears a teal bikini set and black gloves. Shoulder-lenght dyed blonde hair straight. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.
Round 1:
Nicole wastes little time in stepping up to the younger girl and sends several crisp shots to test Ashley's high guard during a frantic opening minute. The singer just lays it into her foe as if her Lioness contract was up for grabs in case of another defeat but the workload doesn't match the precision and most of these punches bounces off Greene's mitts before the actress loops a promising aerial response. Nicole uses her dancing routine skills to avoid immediate trouble and flicks a jabbing series to the body that catches the younger woman by surprise. Scherzinger leans into her opponent and keeps digging more juice around the elbows and she bumps Greene towards the ropes as the actress refuses to buy herself some time with a clinching route; she lives to regret that as Nicole blasts her on the tummy with a vicious double combo and signs off the round with a good uppercut straight on the chin.
Round 2:
That promising opener gives Scherzinger more confidence as she scampers across the sand to send more looping shots around the elbows. However Greene's ready to soak up the body punishment this time and as both women deliver a phone booth-like pounding, youth eventually comes to the fore and stuffs the Hawaiian brunette on her heels. Ashley really digs deep into the singer's breadbasket and shows why all those concerns about Nicole's status are warranted lately. She makes the older woman moan in pain but the sheer intensity of the body assault keeps her on top of a frantic exchange that drifts into a one-sided value down the stretch. Scherzinger has to yield real estate and kicks up plenty of sand in a hectic retreat, she refuses to apply the otherwise predictable clinch and that only allows Greene to switch her attacks upstairs and pick the singer off in mid-range as Scherzinger ends the round behind a high earmuff on the ropes.
Round 3:
Both women jump at each other from the bell and Nicole's really keen to restore the opening round momentum, a quick clash of heads briefly halts Ashley's aggressive approach and the brunette beats her for a drilling hook on the navel before driving one around the liver area. Greene drops to her heels but refuses to back off alltogether and loops an aerial response from the back foot that lacks accuracy on the long haul. Meanwhile Scherzinger blasts a left/right cross on the mouth and abandons the body assault in favor of a proper head hunting mode which gives the Odds & Ends vixen more defensive trouble than some of the pundits anticipated. Nicole shuts the younger woman down in the center of the ring and keeps firing away from both sides until Greene thinks better off it and dekes around in retreat circles. Scherzinger matches her footwork and lands more single shots on target but could really use a proper combo to underline her recovery!
Round 4:
The see-saw nature of this bout continues as Ashley's the first one to deliver the goods in the fourth; she fakes a high approach and ducks underneath a classic piledriver effort from the singer before blasting her on the stomach and raining more punches to the body in a furious close range stance. She tags Nicole's chin with a wayward head-butt but she camps inside her body to reject the Lioness corner pleas to halt the action. The ref waves off Claudia Schiffer's protests and Nicole gets stuck in a hole - literally too as she sinks in the sand and bends awkwardly to the side - while Greene cranks it up and threatens to fracture some ribs here! She hammers in around the elbows and allthough a yelping Scherzinger tries to clinch her, she simply can't enforce the plan and succumbs to the vicious body assault just past the two minute mark. Ashley's relentless pounding forces her TO TAKE A KNEE and that was simply a monster run from the fake blonde here! Nicole signals to coach Schiffer she needs to catch her breath and takes the full eight count before getting up. She dusts her shins from the sand to steal more valuable seconds but Greene shows her no sympathy whatsoever during the dying seconds and keeps landing those harpoons to the body which only makes the brunette scream out again - the clock expires just in time to save the Hawaiian girl from an ugly demise but the writing is pretty much on the wall now.
Round 5:
Nicole fails to recover from that woeful showing in the fourth and gets wrapped in another painful body assault as the knockdown has only increased Ashley's intensity; she beats the slow moving singer for an overhand hook and finds extra pleasure in camping inside her guts with a well-measured follow up that drills the navel and dumps Scherzinger into moaning spasms. The dark-haired veteran looks to lock another clinch but wobbles forward when the actress connects with her chin, another left hook finds the temple and as her arms collapse by her hips, Ashley hammers in a left/right combo that pierces the cleavage and the solar plexus in quick succession... NICOLE CRASHES DOWN FLAT ON HER BACK and basically shrieks out her submission as she just can't find the air in her lungs anymore and mumbles to the ref she's done here tonight. Can't argue with that call, folks! KO5 Ashley Greene!!!
AFTER: That was a very good showing from the Odds & Ends girl who wants another shot at the high-profile PPV schedule. "You know I'm better than most of these washed-up bimbos! I mean, Nicole is ancient history! She won't win another fight in this league again! But I'm ready to step it up! I've tasted the unified title challenge and I want to return to the big fights ASAP! I know Adriana gets all the headlines lately but don't you all forget about me!!!"
While Ashley parades around the ring and kicks extra sand on top of the fallen singer, LCA head trainer Claudia Schiffer can barely hide her disappointement. Apparently Nicole might be broken beyond repair and even the beach boxing genre has failed to revive her nose-diving career. She's still the stable's second best bantamweight though but at the moment provides no threat to winning another fight against anyone not named Lisa Maffia. That's a very sad reality for one of the most attractive cougars on the FCBA roster.
Final result: Ashley Greene def. Nicole Scherzinger KO5.
